TRICARE?

Post by medfire883 » Sat Aug 09, 2014 1:11 pm

Has anyone had any experience dealing with TRICARE Prime in getting a CPAP?

I have had Tricare for the last 24 years.. As long as a doctor has ordered the CPAP and you have had a sleep study done you are golden... They follow the medicare guide exactly as far as I know... Give them a call and ask if your covered, I did, they said everything is covered at 80% from a DME for me... You have to find a DME that takes tricare but most do, especially around any kind of base/post... They are WAY better than the VA, I just tried to get a"spare" mask from the VA and they have 6 mask choices from 4 years ago.. LOL They even took my VA doctor's prescription no questions asked....

Thanks for the reply. I was told to get Dr to write exactly what we/I wanted and Tricare would cover it according to Tricare benefits counselor. Just wanted to check and see how others experiences were.

Hi Medfire,
I've been dealing with TRICARE Prime(2004) and CPAP since 2010.
Has not been a bad journey for me. What questions do you have?
