New member saying hello

Post by SnoringGuy » Sat Jul 19, 2014 6:07 pm

After many years of using a dental device, I decided to change to a C-pap machine. I stayed away from the C-pap because I knew a few people who used them and was horrified by how loud they were and how uncomfortable the masks were. I just was given by my health care provider a Philips System One: Remstar Auto A-Flex with the System One heated humidifier. For the Mask, I chose the ResMed AirFit (P10) mask. I used it last night for the first time and WOW! What a great sleep I got. I woke up feeling rested and relaxed. I joined this forum because you all seem very knowledgeable about all things C-pap and I thought I might jump into the mix and edjemecate myself on my sleep Apnea. Again, I want to say hello to all you nice people.

Hello and welcome. I am new too. I was using a dental device a few weeks ago and I must say I had better results with it than my cpap but had to have some dental restorations done and now the device does not fit anymore.

Have pulled the cpap, out again and am trying to deal with the stuffy nose and head issues.

Yep. I am in the process of getting two crowns to fix two cracked molars. Now my dental device is not an option. Yes, my dental device did work very well for me and stopped my snoring for years. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum; and congratulations on starting the gold standard of treatment.
I agree it is amazing!
Although snoring is often a sure sign of apnea, it is not the same thing,
and the absence of snoring is not proof there are no apneas.
Does anyone ever get a sleep study while wearing a dental device--just to prove efficacy?

Hi Snoring Guy. I love my CPAP machine and accessories and the comfort they all bring. I had loud 60 db of snoring disappear on CPAP. Welcome to this Forum.
