Cheap covers for Bella mask straps

Post by alabuck » Sat Jul 19, 2014 1:12 am

I've noticed a few postings about covers for the Bella mask ear straps. My solution has been to take a 3X3 gauze pad, cut it half, fold the gauze around the strap, then, using a strip of adhesive tape (not Scotch style tape, but the kind used for bandages), tape the pad sides together. The taped sides will easily fold together to form a crease that can be placed at the outside of the back of one's ear and not be uncomfortable. The taped part of my cushion is also handy to grasp when wanting to remove the mask.

The taped pad will usually last about 2 weeks before it needs to be replaced due to body oils and grime collecting on it. The gauze next to the ear is very comfortable and I've not had any slippage issues, either.

A box of 3X3 gauze can be bought for just $2-$3 and will last several months. No care is needed as one simply cuts the pads off and replace with a new one.

Just an idea I thought I'd pass along.
