Time on Sleepyhead doesnt match real life?
Time on Sleepyhead doesnt match real life?
Hi - im not sure if this is a Sleepyhead issue, or a issue with my machine.
I'm on day 3 of my ResMed S9 Autoset.
When I download the data to Sleepyhead, its not the correct time. For example, I went to bed at 2:55am last night, but Sleepyhead says I went to bed at 11:55am. So its 3 hours off.
My time zone is correct in Sleepyhead. I tried looking in the Clinical Manual of the S9 Autoset, but cant find any options there were to set a time zone, or a time, or the like.
Any suggestions on how to "sync" the time so its actually correct? I suppose I could just set my Sleepyhead TZ to Pacific, but it'd be nice if it were all correct. My assumption is my S9 time is set wrong, but I cant figure out how to change/set that.
Advice?

There is a clock that you need to set on the S9.
You have to go into the clinical setup menu area.
http://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-s9-cpap-setup See the pictures of the setup menu at this link.
The time and date are under the Options menu on the S9.
Don't try to make a change backwards if that is what you need to do until bedtime...if you try to do it 3 hours backwards before 3 PM on the machine it won't do it.
Normal new day starts at 12 Noon..and trying to go backwards puts it back into a day where data is already there...it won't do it.
Going forwards 3 hours I don't think it will matter but I would still wait until 3 hours past noon on the machine.

Thanks Pugsy. Gosh you would think the DME would set this up correctly.

Ha Ha! I had the same issue. Time off by 3 hours (Pacific Time, but I am Eastern). DME should have set this up!bkafrick wrote:Thanks Pugsy. Gosh you would think the DME would set this up correctly.

Maybe not.
The clock in the Respironics units isn't settable, and neither is the time zone. They record in UTC, period.
Sleepyhead has a setting that lets you tell it what time zone you are in. Encore and Rescan PROBABLY get that directly from Windows.
They may be interpreting the timezone for you, so it's possible if you adjust the time to local time zone you'll see incorrect times in the other programs.

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

Re: Time on Sleepyhead doesnt match real life?
He has the S9 AutoSet same as me. I didn't download my data until after the second night when I noticed the times were off by 3 hours. I went into the clinician's menu and noticed the time was off there and set it correctly. Every night since then my SleepyHead times have been correct. I suspect Mark is only using the timezone information in SleepyHead for machines, like yours, that are recording UTC. It seems to be ignored in my case, FWIW.

Pugsy/Group,
Have tried that. My machine states it is an S9 Autoset, and it does record AHI.
Somehow, I can't find the Time/Date set in the clinical menu. I went through them all. It has me going to bed and waking up about two or three hours earlier than I do. (I'm EST, so is that UTC?)
I suspect this is unfixable, but you folk are so clever, I thought I'd ask:)

It is fixable for sure. The clock is indeed in the clinical setup menu. It's under the "Options" menu.uncommon wrote: Somehow, I can't find the Time/Date set in the clinical menu. Pugsy,
It was the drink/drugs....or possibly the lack of sleep.
I just went back in and pressed all the buttons again, and there it was.
Apologies and thanks. I have beaten myself with a stick--and am standing in a corner to remind me to RTFM (PROPERLY) Gnash!
