Resmed S9 & Camping

Help I want to go camping with my son but has severe OSH without my Resmed S9 I am done the next day extremely exhausted. Any help or info on what to do would be very much appreciated.

Will you be hiking long distance to camp or will you be camping near your vehicle?
Camping for how many nights at a time?

Cheapest setup is a deep cycle marine battery with special converter for the the S9 machine but those are very heavy to tote around.

Search the forum for battery and camping and you will see tons of threads explaining needs and options.

If hiking a long distance before camping then you might consider one of those light weight battery packs. They will do the job but are a bit pricey.

Using the humidifier really draws the power so most advise turning the humidifier off or leaving it at home.

Thanks - I did go with CPAP Battery.com recieved it friday tested it Saturday and only got 5HRS with it. Was really bummed.
Charged it friday night took off the humi and brought unit downstairs and set it up on the kitchen counter and let it run. It shut down after 5hrs. I use a Resmed S9 Autoset had the pressure at 15. Thought no way only 5hrs... so Saturday night I charged it again and tried it Sunday it then died after 3HRS. Totally bummed as I was going camping tonight but will just drive back now instead of staying the night. Of course this bummed my 7yr old out as this would have been his first timecamping but we will figure this out eventually.

Also CPAPBATTERY.COM charges a 15% restocking fee So I have to pay to ship this $400 dollar battery back and lose $50 bucks in the process BUYERS BEWARE!!!

It is a Campsite close to the car. No hiking in involved at all.

Did your setup require an inverter?

I can use mine 2-3 nights in a row with a group 24 deep cycle and an inverter. No humidifier, pressure on auto with a max of 12.

I've camped quite a bit this year with my S9 although I have a popup and electricity available. One thing I have noticed when camping though is my filter gets dirty in a hurry. I usually change it when I come back home. Other than that, camping with my CPAP has been very enjoyable and I have had some VERY good nights sleeping.

My nephew has had his CPAP for years and wouldn't dream of camping without it. He told me a story once that they forgot to pack it and discovered it wasn't in the camper when he got to his site. He got back in his truck and drove a hundred miles to retrieve it. He said there was no way he was going one night without it, it just wasn't worth it.

I tend to agree, I'm hooked on breathing good at night and feeling good during the day.

The site you mention doesn't seem to sell batteries. Where did you buy, and which model?
