Rescan Resmed S9
Rescan Resmed S9
I'm using a Resmed S9 Autoset, fine machine.
I'd like to be able to interrogate the SD card using Rescan software 4.3.0.7081 and then put the card back in the machine, and RETAIN the information on the card.
Every time I put the SD card back in the S9, the machine insists on deleting the information on the card. Or I get a message saying, "Please remove card to start machine," (something like that.) It won't commence breathing duties until the card has (apparently been wiped.)
Can someone point me to the manual pages where I need to re-read and absorb?

Re: Rescan Resmed S9
What operating system is on your computer?
Does it happen to be Windows 8.0 or 8.1? If so you need to slide the write protect switch to the read only side of the SD card. Seems like Windows 8.xxx adds a little file to the SD card and the S9 doesn't like it when the SD card is changed and will want to erase it and start all over again. When this happens we get the "invalid SD card" message and the only option is to erase the card.
Compliance and summary usage is stored on the S9 so it just gets put right back onto the SD card when you do erase it for whatever reason.

Pugsy,
Guilty as charged, Windows 8.1 user, fully updated, with 20 million gigs of RAM:) LOL, I'm a DAW system builder, so I HAVE to keep up to date with about 3 sets of systems, and for sound, currently it is Win 8.1.

Dirty little snake, but so typically interfering mother hen Windows
Thanks a million, very helpful. I kin manage that.
Thanks.

Re: Rescan Resmed S9
I'm glad I read this. As anxious as I am to start using Sleepyhead, for the next month I will just use the readings on my machine. I don't want to accidentally erase anything before my one month appointment where they will see if I am compliant!

Even if the SD card gets erased...broken...gets lost...dog eats it....the S9 will retain all the necessary files that are needed to prove compliance usage as well as summary AHI and 95% leak numbers in its internal memory and will put that data right back on the SD card in the event the SD card is blank for whatever reason.HealthyandHopeful wrote:I'm glad I read this. What doesn't stay on the S9's internal memory are the files for the detailed graphs but summary hours used...AHI and leak numbers are always available to be written on the SD card if needed. DMEs normally only care about hours of use for compliance purposes but if they for some reason want to see AHI and leak numbers...those are available but without the detailed graphs in ResScan.
No need to be afraid to "mess things up" because even if we do mess things up...it's fixable.

Re: Rescan Resmed S9
See if you can turn off System Restore in win8 for the SD card. It's been reported that this keeps WIn8 from messing up the card, but confirmation would be nice.uncommon wrote:

Re: Rescan Resmed S9
I hope this topic doesn't put anyone off of Sleepyhead which I consider to be a great program. We all agree that backups are very important, whether for compliance or just for personal information. Sleepyhead is a dream to backup: Just copy the main SH folder (very large because the nightly waveforms are ALWAYS saved) to your backup drive... done, did it, check it off the list.
SH is sooooo easy to backup compared to ResScan - and especially compared to Encore Pro, which requires a nightmare number of PDFs individually backed up with the program's save report PDF button... a labor I dread once every two weeks when I force myself to do it. Plus, with Encore Pro you don't get your nightly respiratory waveforms saved UNLESS you specifically save them the NEXT morning, in other words, the second day after or the next week after you can't save your waveforms. I'm not kidding: Is that a stupid program or what?

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Give me a couple of days, I'll fool with it, see if I can provide confirmation.archangle wrote:Archangle, uncommon wrote:

Thanks, I've got the software running now and downloaded from my card. I don't understand a lot of it, but I hope to learn. Re: Rescan Resmed S9
It's worth pointing out that the problem happens regardless of whether you use ResScan or SleepyHead on a Win 8.1 machine.Sir NoddinOff wrote:I hope this topic doesn't put anyone off of Sleepyhead which I consider to be a great program.
The problem is coming from the operating system and not the SleepyHead (or ResScan) program.
Locking the SD card before inserting it into the computer is easy and it is a reliable way to prevent this problem from happening.
Yep. Backing up SH is easy.We all agree that backups are very important, whether for compliance or just for personal information. Sleepyhead is a dream to backup: Just copy the main SH folder (very large because the nightly waveforms are ALWAYS saved) to your backup drive... done, did it, check it off the list.
And you describe the Encore situation in all too accurate and gory detailSH is sooooo easy to backup compared to ResScan - and especially compared to Encore Pro, which requires a nightmare number of PDFs individually backed up with the program's save report PDF button... a labor I dread once every two weeks when I force myself to do it.
