I received my first prescription on June 13, and it read "E0601 CPAP S9 pressure 11.
I called sleep doctor who wrote it and requested an AUTO machine instead. I asked for it to say "RedMed Auto S9 Elite model 36005".
The new prescription I received on June 30 says : Auto CPAP machine
ResMed Auto S9 Elite
Model 36005
After lots of reading on this forum, I'm afraid I didn't request the correct wording. Probably should have left out the word "Elite", and use "Autoset" instead. Which is more important - name of machine (NOT Escape), or model number?
Still waiting for an appt at Apria/Crapria to get machine. Do I just jump right in to check run hours right in front of technician? I've come too far and waited too long to screw it up now.....
Thanks for your help folks!
Finally received new RX - but I may have screwed up
Re: Finally received new RX - but I may have screwed up
Yes, lose the word "elite."
Also, if you can, get the doctor to specify a pressure range, even if it's a small one. This will help with insurance.
Be sure they don't try to sucker you with an Escape Auto.
Good luck.
