Is this possible?
I'm happy to report that last Friday my CPAP machine was finally delivered by the DME. It was an arduous process, and I won't bore you with the details, but thanks to all the information I read on this group, I refused to accept the wrong machine when it was delivered and insisted that they deliver the ResMed S9 Autoset which was prescribed by my doctor. It felt so empowering to be able to state that I knew what I was entitled to receive and I wouldn't accept a substitute:-) I've used the CPAP since Friday (three nights) and have been able to keep my mask on all night. I understand that this puts me in the minority for which I am grateful. I know I had period of waking up and opening my mouth to breath and being quite amused at myself because I sounded like a whinnying horse. Yes, I know I have an odd sense of humor even when I'm sleeping. I was curious to see if I was making progress but the only read out I could find said I slept 7.5 hours and the mask fit was a smiley face. I felt as if I was back in nursery school. I was hoping for further validation that I was using the machine properly and was able to find a link to instructions on how to switch to the clinicians report which I did. On one screen there were numbers for things I have not come across ie BID, VID, RID, HID. I'll figure that out another day. Here's my question: On the Sleep Quality page it read AHI 4.5. Is this possible? During my at home sleep apnea test, my AHI was 45. Could there be such an improvement in just three days? I'm wondering if there is a problem with the machine's settings. Also, I wasn't able to figure out how to find out if my mask is leaking. I understand that's important information and an indicator of how effective the mask is working. Is this true and if so, where would I look for this information? I've been absorbing as much as I can from reading the posts and I realize that there is a lot of discussion about analyzing the information on computer printouts. At the moment, I'm not quite ready to tackle that aspect of managing my sleep apnea. I don't want to feel overwhelmed by all the data. But I would like to know if I'm making progress.

Re: Is this possible?
you need to install resscan, or sleepyhead on your computer, and then download the data from the sd card that's in the back of the machine into your computer...
there's lots of posts on how to do that here, just do a little searching

Re: Is this possible?
If you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea and not from central sleep apnea then my treatment results might give you some direction to follow:
Get ResScan software and post the 5 graphs of your data as follows:
Notice in the following pressure graph that I got to set the Max and Min pressures on the S9 Autoset so that the pressure graph is confined closely between these two Max and Min pressures:

The pressure graph also shows if and when I stopped the machine for any reason.
The Leak graph is very important to follow, b/c if the Leak goes above the red line then the machine runs into problems diagnosing events.

The following Stats graph shows my setting on the S9:

You can obtain Stats graph for 9 periods from one day up to one year of data:

You can't get such important data organized by periods by using SleepyHead software from Bundaberg Australia:

Good Luck! It takes time but you seems to be the right person to achieving it.
p.s. tomorrow I plan to remove all those circular icons that are attached to above or to below the graphs. In the mean time please don't click on them b/c by doing so you might enter my private domain. I think so but I may be wrong.

Re: Is this possible?
Hi - the info you want (leaks, etc.) won't necessarily show on the screen, but with software on the computer. The graphs may seem daunting, but people like Pugsy can help you with every detail and I bet you'll find it easier once you get going. It just looks scary when presented as Avi has done here.

I wish we had the data to know if you actually are in the minority or not. I am very glad to hear that you are beginning to acclimate well.Grandma Judy wrote: I've used the CPAP since Friday (three nights) and have been able to keep my mask on all night. Perhaps they expect that sleep apnea will boost us into our second childhood.Grandma Judy wrote: I know I had period of waking up and opening my mouth to breath and being quite amused at myself because I sounded like a whinnying horse. SW : Displays the current software version.
BID : Displays the boot loader ID.
VID : Displays the variant ID.
RID : Displays the regional variant ID.
HID : Displays the humidifier software ID.
Yes. Not bad for a Newbie.Grandma Judy wrote: Here's my question: On the Sleep Quality page it read AHI 4.5. Is this possible?
And with treatment we hope to get that down to where mine tends to run which is well under two.Grandma Judy wrote: During my at home sleep apnea test, my AHI was 45.
I would certainly hope that there would be and am glad that you can report it. It is a good sign.Grandma Judy wrote: Could there be such an improvement in just three days?

Just move that positive a bit each day.
