That's not what atxrr said - it looks like his DME is going to figure out a way to bill him for $2000
I just received a scrip for a CPAP machine with a 8 pressure. I have Cigna coverage and for DME they pay 80% but only after a $2,000 deductible. When i talked to the DME referred by my doc, they told me I only have the choice of 1 machine (a Resmed S9 autoset) for $2000 and change, including all hoses, humidifier, etc. I said it seemed suspicious that it's the same price as my deductible and she said that it's the contract rate from Cigna and that's all they have.

Yup- both DME I went to basically balance charge for the package of equipment to max out my deductible. I just went ahead and bought an S9 package on cpap.com for just over $1K and went for the AirFit N10 with 30 day exchange to get started. With the support I can get from you fine folks and free mask exchanges, I think I'll do fine and keep my thousand dollars not to mention not having to kiss some DME's butt when I need something! Plus Cigna will allow me to submit the receipts to reduce my deductible.

Thanks everyone for your advice- love this forum!
