Which one of you Linux gurus can help guide me through an install of Sleepyhead on my old laptop with a fresh install of Ubuntu v 12.
Haven't messed with Linux/Unix for 20 years. I may be a little rusty.
I tried to download and instal 64 bit AMD version to run my Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz with 4 GB of RAM.
I would like to have it working when I visit my brother in law on Monday. He has a PRS 1 560. The only night in the past couple months that he used it more than 4 hours was the last last time I visited overnight. I put the mask on him and tucked him in. The next morning he said he never felt so good, slept so good, or had so much energy. Since then on a good night he may log 1 or 2 hours.
I am going to spend Monday and Tuesday night with him and I will want to monitor his results and show him the difference.
One of his problems is high leaks, since he discovered the mask felt more comfortable with only one side of the head gear fastened. He is 80 years old and hard to convince that his way may not be the best. It took until about 10 years ago to convince him to stop smoking. It took me 2 years to convince him and his primary doctor that his Holter Monitor was not an overnight sleep study, and that I recognized many symptoms of OSA, including, snoring, sleepy and napping all day, not sleeping at night, AFIB, etc.
Now that he has completed a sleep study with AHI of 34, at least his doctors all agree that he has OSA and it should be treated. He is still not sure he has it or that he should treat it.

I do not have any knowledge of Linux,, I just wanted to tell you God bless you for looking after your brother, and spending the time with him, and helping him along.
I wish you Good Luck getting him straightened out.

Re: Sleepyhead on Linux
That should be fairly simple process
So you downloaded the packages, tried to install them with a command like "sudo dpkg -i package_file" right? Something didn't work? what exactly?

sleepyhead on linux is a real pain in the arse, it seems to be a very low priority for them, (everybody uses macs and pcs, who cares about linux?)... the versions for linux on the web page are ancient and don't support the prs1 well, or at all (not sure which).
I've managed to get the current snapshot to compile, and it mostly works.... ish.
https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ ... rom_source
I've got it compiled on ubuntu 14.04 x64.

What parts are not working for you? I compiled it on two Debian systems in the last two days and I can import and view my data with no issues, as far as I can tell. But it wouldn't compile until I deleted some lines in the translations file.palerider wrote:sleepyhead on linux is a real pain in the arse, it seems to be a very low priority for them, (everybody uses macs and pcs, who cares about linux?)... the versions for linux on the web page are ancient and don't support the prs1 well, or at all (not sure which).

on the last git pull, I had to delete stuff from the translations, as well as upgrade to qt5.adolson wrote: What parts are not working for you? things that don't work.. I can't change the day start time.
on a vpap adapt, the minute vent and tidal volume graphs are exactly the same, where there should be some differences.
the text in the hover boxes on the summary pages is usually garbled blocks.
there were a couple of other thinsgs in past pulls that I entered bug reports about.
