My avatar is my new liner.

Post by sleeptighttea » Tue May 20, 2014 6:46 pm

I couldn't figure out how to post photos in here. I did leave my Facebook page it has photos on it.

anyway maybe someone will make them and can sell them and earn a living. I was hoping to raise enough money to pay the manufacture and start a company that is made up of only OSA patients who are interested in design and development or sales and marketing so we could all be part of it and make some money. but since that's not happening with my indieogogo.com campaign..it's a weird tailored product?

anyway make em take em and use em.

they are washable. )

Can you post these links to your other note and delete this one?

I still can't see whether the vent holes are covered or not - and it matters - and I can't actually tell from the link photos just where the front or back is of what... What problem does the thing solve?

How are they different from pad a cheek liners?

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

The sleeve is different because the hole doesn't need to be stretched. It fits the mask perfectly and stays in place with your nose and mouth. I wanted to make videos on how to put them on and use them, but I just don't have the funding.

If you want to order one from the campaign to try it, I have a manufacture and can get them out, I have some already made.
After the campaign I was going to sell them for $10.00 each.

+1

I just don't see it being different enough from Pad-A-cheek to make an impact in what is already a niche market.

I understand that people can't really see the difference. But there is. Having to stretch a hole for your mouth can be difficult and that's why a lot of people don't use pad-a-cheek.

I think having more options is really good for innovation and we really need it. But it's ok. I am going to take some to the sleep center today to pass some out to the patients there just to get rid of them.

Have a great day all!

Hi sleeptightea,

As one who has had problems with the holes of the other liners, I am definitely curious about your product. Would it be possible to show a picture of the back so I can get a sense of how this might be an improvement for me?

Totally agree that the more options there are for optimal sleep apnea treatment, the better.

Thanks!

Finding the right fabric is a challenge. I cut a section of leg out of a pair of tights;
but it only fit one mask, and was not stretchy or soft enough to use every night.
Karen's fabric is downright awesome, and I think it is American made. (correct me if I'm wrong)
I have never seen anything close in all the fabric stores I haunt.

Yes Chunkyfrog,
I have spent a year testing fabrics for comfort and durability and I have tried many different types on myself. The fabrics I have chosen are a variety because some people actually have sensitivity to fabrics and dyes and other issues as well.

I just can't afford to do all the testing and development without funding. That's why the big guys get there first because they have that available to them.

I care about innovation and moving towards getting rid of the plastic altogether. That's my ultimate goal.

So I figured this works for now and people can make them and try them or get one from me and maybe karen if she would be willing to experiment with this pattern. Maybe she can take it where I haven't been able to because she does have so many people who are loyal to her and that's important. I applaud her efforts and support her as well. I have recommended her product too, but it didn't' work for me and I know others locally that have big noses or fabric issues with her product and can't use it.

I just want change in the products that are available so everyone can benefit, not just a few that get used to the plastic or the stretching. Some of us are less tolerable or those things for many reasons.

Thanks for the input. I really do appreciate it.

Lisa

* Short Answer. Give me a week and let me see about getting your mask so I can make you one. I will try my best. In the mean time I believe Karen does make them for that model and maybe you can use hers. if not let me know. I have tried and can't do it with just the dimensions for this pattern.

part of the problem, (funding the development for everyone.)

Post the pics when you get them. Right now, we can't see the hole where the mouth would be. So it doesn't look different, other than attaching differently.
