Hi folks,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been haunting these boards while I try and figure this stuff out. We're also in the middle of buying a house so it's been busy.

You might remember I was having trouble with a DME who had given me an F&P brick and basically left me to get on with it. She kept hanging up on me when I attempted to phone for an appointment. Finally I mentioned to her it wasn't working and I was at the point of jacking it all in. Then and only then was she worried enough to attempt to call my doctor (I was right at the end of my 30 days so I had already called my Dr to send my prescription to a new place). We ended up returning the machine the next day.

I'm now using resmed s9 elite with the swift fx nano nasal mask. I feel much better already - I've had maybe 10 good nights recently (3 bad ones too) but it's so much better than 100% bad nights! When I sleep, I average 7 to 9 hours. Still feeling a little sleepy during the day but I'm not coasting through the day anymore. My AHI varies but the highest it has been while I sleep is 2.9 and sleepyhead tells me my leak data is low (4l -9l). It bugs my husband I check data but it makes me feel better

The one issue I've had recently is that although I love the mask I have now, I don't love the headgear. The silicon strap won't stay on top of my head (maybe I have an odd shaped head? Lol) I've tried to refit several times only to have it slip back down level with the fabric strap so stability has been an issue. New DME swears Bella loops won't fit on the nano - probably a money issue! So I'm getting ready to buy them on here just to see if I can stick with the nano. Last ditch, you know.

Anyway. I wanted to thank you guys for giving me the knowledge I needed to step up and fight for the care I needed. I'm doing so much better now than I was. I haven't yet been able to give up the melatonin but maybe one day soon!

I used the Nano with the Bella Loops for 3 nights just to see if it could be done successfully...and it can.
I even used the old Swift FX hose with the Nano and the Bella Loops..it will work.
The new lighter hose that comes with the Nano...is a bit better though.
I was afraid the weight of the Nano cushion would pull on the Loops too much but it didn't. First night it was a bit leaky because I didn't have the tension with the loops just right but 2nd and 3rd nights were perfect.
The Bella Loops are a bit tricky with the tension. Be sure to do your final tension adjusts laying down in bed..not sitting up as the weight of anything (nasal pillows or the Nano cushion) does affect the seal and thus the tension needed.
Also the tension adjustments...sometimes it's just a micro adjustment that does the trick. So don't go overboard with the tension or your ears will hate you.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the success I had using the Nano cushion with the Bella Loops. I know that technically ResMed says it won't work but I don't know why they say that because it will work and fairly easily at that.

So go for it. Just be aware that the Loops can take a bit of tweaking to get "just right" and this pertains to the nasal pillows as well and not just for the Nano. Final adjustment...laying down it bed. That was critical for me.
