Snoring
Re: Snoring
That would be 8 per hour average and that usually indicates some partial airway collapse and that might be enough to impact sleep quality. Most often they come in clusters and you might have some times when nothing much happens and then other times have a truckload of them and over the night they average out at 8 per hour.
On occasion the machine has been known to pick up false snores like hose movement on the bed or even like in my case my little pug dog snores but most often an increase in snores means that the pressure is not quite optimal for some reason..maybe sleeping position or REM sleep.
What equipment are you using? Your machine doesn't show up and your humidifier chosen was discontinued long ago.
If you will look on the bottom of the blower unit for a 3 digit model number we can point you to the correct settings in your equipment profile.
Since you are reporting snores per hour average then it's going to be a Respironics machine and if you are new to therapy and got a machine through a DME then it is likely going to be one of the PR System One models.

Re: Snoring
Yes it is a resperonics. I guessed on the humidifier. Resperonics System One. The humidifier attaches to it.
Re: Snoring
Model number on the bottom of the unit is likely
450 or 460 or 550 or 560 unless you have one of the higher end machines.
The 60 denotes the 60 Series model which is the latest and has the heated hose/ humidifier option.
The humidifier models differ between the 50 and 60 series models so different choices in the equipment menu depending on machine.
If you can find the 3 digit number we can tell you exactly which machine to choose and which humidifier to use...they will all begin with PR System One..xxxx though and there's several choices..don't look in the Remstar section...look in the PR System One section of the menu choices.

Re: Snoring
Got it. This is your machine choice to choose in the equipment menu choices
PR System One 60 Series Pro CPAP
and the humidifier choice would be
PR System One 60 Series heated tube humidifier with heated tube (even if you don't have the optional heated hose)
You mentioned in the other post that you are using Sleepyhead...can you post an image of one of the typical detailed nightly reports with the graphs?
Events graph
Flow rate graph
leak graph
Pressure graph isn't really needed because you are using a single fixed pressure..cpap mode machine.
We talk about how to post those images here as well as some examples.

It sounds like your pressure is not quite optimal.

Re: Snoring
Check out your other thread asking about adding O2...not yours but your boyfriends (which I don't recommend that you do)..I also responded there.
Without seeing your reports I think probably all you need to clear up those RERAs and snores is just a wee bit more pressure.
I suspect that they show up in clusters. If your machine flagged Flow limitations (which it doesn't and just because it doesn't show any doesn't mean they didn't happen because FL flags only are available in auto adjusting pressure machines which yours is not when you are in cpap mode). Clusters usually mean for some reason the airway just isn't held open quite optimally.
Probably as little as 0.5 increase in pressure would help a lot. Now whether it helps your symptoms...that's an unknown because there very well could be other factors involved that the best cpap therapy in the world can't fix..
It's hard for me to be sure without seeing the reports though but sounds like just a little more pressure is needed to clear up the bulk of the RERAs and snores.

Ok. Let's forget about my oxygen post. . I will post my sleepyhead data on this post tomorrow. Something told me to post his O2 idea on here before trying it.
Re: Snoring
Check out the Oxygen post for my reply so I don't have to type it all over again.

Read the entire thread. You have to host the snipped image some place on the web and link to it.

I don't know how to get images from google hosting and I can't see your image now because it wants me to sign in and I don't have an account with them and don't want one.
