Hello! I have been lurking here for the last couple of weeks, even before I started CPAP.
My first mask was a Swift FX, but being a side sleeper I found it somewhat uncomfortable. I switched to the Wisp, like the nasal mask but I am not sure about the headgear. I hope to find out more tonight when I wear it for the second time. I am going to check better how the headgear fits before I go to bed. Last night it was cutting into the the top of my ear. If I can't solve this problem I might check out the Swift FX Nano. Has anyone else used the Nano? I have not been able to find out a lot about them.
Thanks!
UppaMike

Re: New To CPAP
Since you seem able to use a nasal mask, consider a switch to nasal pillows.

I also started with the swift fx mask and then switched to the swift fx nano. For me the fx was too much gear on my face and the mask was too big. I thought of switching to nasal pillows, in fact I tried some for about 4 days. I could not stand that the pressure was only on the inside of my noise. With my bipap, every inhale caused my nose to feel like it was being blown up from he inside (okay it actually was) and I just could not get used to it.
Once I switched to the swift fx nano, I had a few hose routing issues to deal with. Once I learned to route the hose up and not down, all was well. I have been using this now for a few months and I love it. I am a stomach, side and back sleeper. Mostly on my side but I move around a lot...

Re: New To CPAP
Thanks for the insight to the Nano. The Wisp will also allow you to route the hose up over the head but I have not tried that yet. I like the head gear of the Nano better than the Wisp, but my DME strongly recommended the Wisp. I will stick with it for a couple of weeks and if not convinced I will switch to the Nano.pbriggs wrote:I also started with the swift fx mask and then switched to the swift fx nano. Re: New To CPAP
I had much better luck with the Swift FX Nano than I did with the Respironics Wisp.
Your DME sold you a Respironics machine...and is pushing the Wisp...I bet they have a special contract with Respironics...get a special price break on masks that way. They likely make more money selling the Wisp.
