Easy directions for posting pictures of your report

Post by LisaSch » Mon Mar 31, 2014 4:51 am

I had not been able to post my report for months due to not figuring out how to do it. Here is what you need to do.

1. Using photo capture software, capture pictures of your report and save ONLY in jpeg format. This chat room only accepts and displays JPEGS.
2. Use Photobucket.com. You can use other websites, but Photobucket provides exactly what you need to post a perfect picture.
3. Upload your photographs to Photobucket.
4. In the right-side panel, under Links to share this photo, touch the IMG text box. This copies the link. (This is the very last selection and makes this oh so easy.)
5. Paste this exactly as it is copied out of Photobucket. Do not use the formatting here CPAPtalk, it is already formatted in Photobucket exactly as required to post nicely here in the post.
6. Repeat as many times as you need for each photo you have to post.

Happy posting!

If you have Windows 8 it comes with a program called Snip. You can use that as well.

These instructions will not be spot on for everyone because the layout you see in Photobucket will vary depending on how PB link preferences are set. The image code will appear if you have it set to appear in your Preferences, and it may not be the last link displayed, again depending on how you have Preferences set.

True, but IMG was set on mine as default. If someone uses it in its default settings it will appear as I directed. Other than that, it should be pretty easy to figure out to select the IMG link. The person who might be confused is not likely to mess with the default settings…that would be my guess.

yeah...I read this and thought "there's a Preferences I can change??" I never even thought about it.
I do like you do and I just use the default settings and the IMG addy is in the last line of the box of 4 for me also.
We used to have to use the IMG brackets from the forum Editor even when using that address but now we don't have to...something in the forum editor changed I guess.

Some people are put off by Photobucket...it is a lot more complicated now than it was when I first started using it 5 years ago and has gone through several face lifts.

Any photo/image hosting website will work...some are easier than others to figure out how to have the image show up and not the just the link.

I discovered the Preferences (aka "Link Options") after Photobucket did one of their face lifts and the Image code went missing. So now I get the image code when I'm on the Album screen -- each thumbnail image has the IMG code right underneath it:

And this is what my screen looks like when I click on an indivdual image:

Image

Under "Links" in the "Update Link Options" preferences I have only the Image box checked which is why all the other links aren't showing on the right side.

The way to get the Image code under each thumbnail on the Album screen is to check "Turn on Easy Linking Mode" when you're on the "Link Options" page.

I actually found it easier than Flickr or Google. They also reveal those links, which is amazing. Other apps bury the links.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...bowing...
That hint will save me tons of aggravation since with the latest facelift I have to go directly to the image and get the IMG code and often the damn thing won't copy until I click it 100 times.
Now I can just copy it from the thumb nail album as long as I know what I am getting...hard for me to see those tiny images sometimes.

Someone mentioned a program called snip that is available in Windows 8.... it is also available in Windows 7 and XP. From Start Menu, go to all programs, then Accessories. That has always been my favorite way to do a screen shot.
