My hybrid with AirFit P10 hose/pillow and Swift FX headgear worked just fine. Slept well. No problems.

So guys and gals....those of you who hate the one size fits all headgear..and have an old Swift FX headgear laying around...you can merge them to have headgear that will adjust very easily.

I will try to get some pictures later if someone needs them but it was easy to do.

Awesome! This is good news! I would appreciate it if you could post pictures. I'm challenged in that regard. Thank you Pugsy!

I had pretty much written off the Airfit because of the single size, non-adjustable headgear,
but this development means I just may try it,

I will see if I can get some decent pictures of my little hybrid job. There's probably multiple ways to get it done but you all know me...easiest is always my first choice plus I didn't want to bugger up the semi rigid side things.

People not familiar with the stretchy part of the headgear...you know it can be removed.
If you don't know how you might watch the videos on how to put the stretchy part over the semi rigid plastic side things.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... dgear.html
There's a little slit that you can see when the stretchy band is attached...like a button hole.
Watch the video if you don't understand what I mean.

Now this sounds interesting...my problem with the P10 was the unstable headgear. I could picture buying just the Swift FX headgear and a P10, and put them together, creating the Swift FX 2 (or Swift FX10) that I've been hoping for *smile*. My used FX headgear isn't as springy as I would like, that's why I've changed headgear in the first place, so new would be more suitable for me.

Also would like to see pictures, just to see how you put it together.

Thanks.

For me, "easy" is the way to go also. I'm still going to try and make the headgear on the Airfit work - maybe wrap around a stuffed teddy bear or a small stuffed pillow like the ones my granddaughter has all over her bed - but if that doesn't do it, it's terrific to know that it works with the Swift headgear. I'm very glad I have several old ones to play with.

I would appreciate pictures also... so whenever you have a chance...

Okay here are some images...not the greatest but I think you can get the idea.
The pink side strap cover does a good job holding the semi rigid plastic thing next to strap.
Only thing I can think of is maybe a little tape down at the bend right where the nasal pillow is attached so it doesn't crawl out..should it crawl out.
It's comfortable. It felt like the regular headgear feels except it is adjustable. I slept well with it last night.
I used the Padacheek covers last night because I could only find 1 pink strap cover.

This one is showing how I routed the semi rigid plastic thing through the FX slots and routed it outside of the strap.
Little bit of scotch tape on the far end.

Image

This one is from the bottom ... you need a curious kitty too...we have 4 new babies as of last night.

Looking good. I will take some time tomorrow to try this. Now, airfit pillows, swift fx headgear and the nano hose would be my perfect mask:-)

If you can figure out how to redo the hose to pillow connection....let me know.
I did my part. I got you started.
For my needs I am happy with the flexibility of the P10 hose and its weight. Not to mention the lack of cold breeze or vent noise. The way I route the hose around the bed pillow on my bed it doesn't make any difference to me. I never notice any of the hoses I use.. whether the Tap Pap, or Swift FX or the Nano.

I just finished putting the two masks together and I'm trying it out while watching t.v. Wow, it's really comfortable! We'll see how it goes tonight. Thanks Pugsy!!

Fair enough:) My original suggestion was a bit of a joke, you kinda blew me away by making it a reality! I will work on the hose, but I am doubtful. Actually, if I have a dream mask I would want the vent flexibility joint on the nano attached to the airfit hose, airfit pillows and all held on to me with the swift FX headgear. But...I suppose that might be a tough after market trick lol. I could also be extremely happy if they released a new swift FX design that used the same venting as the airfit.

I had a similar experience. I switched over from a FX, using the small pillow, to the P10 and went with the small pillow as well; which lasted for about a week. Then I ended up switching from the small to a medium, because one my nostrils became raw from the pillow getting sucked in. Since I made the switch I've had no problems; which has been over a month.

pugsy,
royalties/job offers are on there way - or should be ! why can't these manufacturers , R & D's get it right. granted we are all different in facial construction & needs, but dern a one size fits all stretchy strap w/ no adjustment ?
