Tap pap and tongue sores

Post by Bobshouse » Fri Mar 07, 2014 9:45 pm

Im having a little problem with my mouth guard and the mask is only about 4 months old. I grit my teeth a lot and have gouged the guard bad enough to where the sharp edges are causing me tongue sores from rubbing up against them. Getting pretty bad on the tip of the tongue, so I went back to my Breeze a couple of days ago. Yesterday I had a great idea and got a new emery board from the wife and "sanded" the sharp edged off. Tried it again last night and felt pretty good...just gotta let these sores heal now.

Anyone else have the same problems with a better cure?

Can you order a new mouthpiece from CPAP.com?

You might try one of the boil and bite youth mouth guards and mold it for your bottom teeth. They are really cheap at WalMart.

Bob...simple solution..... just re-boil it and the problem will be gone. I had to do that with mine and I chewed a hole in it that rubbed my tongue raw . I tried a boil and bite guard from walmart on my bottom teeth but with two guards in my mouth the drool factor was way too icky. I finally got used to having the tappap one in my mouth and no longer bite down so hard as to do damage to it.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

If re-boiling doesn't work, a new mouth piece is only $30.00.
