gas with cpap

Post by mrspreston » Fri Feb 28, 2014 11:29 am

How does one avoid gas from using a CPAP? Every morning I wake up with so much pressure (gas) in my stomach! All my CPAP adjustments are correct; I don't know what to do?

Please post what kind of equipment you are using (brand and model) along with what pressure you are using and what mask.
There may be some exhale relief available on your machine that would help.

It's called aerophagia see this link for ways to reduce it
wiki/index.php/Aerophagia

Once we know what machine you are using...and any exhale relief settings you might be already using...and pressure settings...then we can offer more specific ideas.

mrspreston:

I've been on CPAP for almost one year. I use a FF mask and on numerous occasions have awakened fully rested but feeling as if I weighed 300 pounds (100 pounds less would be correct). The accumulated gases have been harmless and I seem to flatulate them out in the shower or in the next hour. Yes, the gas is stinky but it's caused me no digestive or abdominal problems.

Good luck and God bless.
