Any suggestions to eliminate the air leaks at the top of my nose when using the Swift FX Nano?
The leaks are very minor, but just enough to irritate my eyes. I successfully use the Swift FX w/medium pillows but am looking for another equally comfortable alternative.
Over the next few weeks, I expect to increase the BiPAP pressure working with my sleep doc (@Stanford) while concurrently reducing severe aerophagia, UARs and flow limitation events - not a small challenge. Current BiPAP (non-auto) pressure set to 14/10. Although I can't access daily data (machine is too old for Sleepyhead), 7 day AHI is typically around 1. As the pressure will go up, maybe past 20, it would be good to have a plan B mask.
It's possible that the simple answer to my mask leak question is to use the larger size FX Nano Mask, causing a major DME interaction challenge...

Re: Eliminating Swift FX Nano Nose Leaks
A larger or smaller Nano cushion would be a good idea to try. I have had clients with more pronounced noses use smaller cushions successfully and also the opposite.
Also, the manufacturers rep in this area advised adjusting the top strap for positioning and the back strap for leakage issues. Do keep in mind all ResMed's bubble masks need room to work properly, so try not to overtighten.
Good luck!

Re: Eliminating Swift FX Nano Nose Leaks
I have no ideas how to eliminate the leaks, other than switch masks. I looked at this mask, and I thought it looked like it would leak for me. Most masks seem to leak right into my eyes and dry them out. Then I tried some nose pillow mask that came sideways, and it was better, but it still pulled on me, away from my nose, and generally drove me nuts throughout the night. I settled on the Swift LT for her.....I LOVE IT!!! My doc is always impressed how low my leakage rate is, and it secures on the top of my head so it doesnt pull to either side. The FX looks like it would pull down too far, like it needs to be stabilized more to avoid movement and leakage.
Now if only they made MY mask in PINK!!!!!
