I watched a TV program last night about a particular lifestyle in PA. Do as I say and don't question my authority....... Sort of sounds like what GreyEagle1 was trying to shovel on this forum. Must be from that part of the countryGuest wrote: how can one find something that does not exist

GreyEagle1 wrote:As of January 1st, 2014 any CPAP user who is turning 65, and on Medicare will have some Hoops to jump through to get replacement CPAP supplies. Even if you have been using a CPAP for several years prior to now, the following must be on file with your supplier in order to be able to purchase supplies. A Letter of Record of a face to face meeting with your prescribing Doctor. This letter of record must include his comments on the benefits of you using the CPAP, a new prescription, your name, date of birth, date of order, diagnosis, the Doctor's signature and his or her "National Provider ID number". The National Provider ID number is not the same as your physician's professional number. I am simply astounded by this new rule, as I have been using a CPAP for the last 7 years, and just visited my Doctor 9 months ago. The cost, and additional paperwork are simply a waste.
I'm confused.......(and astounded).......that the OP would be astounded by more rules.GreyEagle1 wrote:As I read through the comments one thing comes to mind...Whether Medicare pays for it or not, in most cases you have paid for these benefits all your working life. And under the new standards for insurance coverage in the US if you are over 65 you will probably have to deal with Medicare as your primary or secondary coverage for Health Care, and the waste that is inherit in the system. For proof of what I said, you can call your DME provider, ask your physician, or go to Medicare(dot)gov website. I am a certified Counselor for Medicare-Medicaid in the State of Indiana and simply would not post something without doing research. In this case I experienced this event myself. What my point is, is that it is a shame for the waste this creates in the system. All, I suppose, in the name of trying to cut fraud.
Something also sounds contradictory about these two posts to me.
But, even though I'm on Medicare, I have no plans to use it for any of my CPAP-related supplies. I've stocked up for years and everything since my original equipment has been purchased out-of-pocket. I'm not going to jump through any more hoops than I have to.

I am so glad to see my man Wulfman posting and giving us a little common sense.
So many have dropped out since I got on board. I used to wonder when he and Rested Gal slept.
I worked a midnight shift and they were there giving sound advice to all.
Thanks for the support and long live the tank.

I think back in the day (or night), it was RG who did more posting on the graveyard shift.
Yep, I stocked up on "Tanks" before they disappeared. I have 10 of them......CPAPs and APAPs.
Take care.
