Head sweats
Have any of you had a problem with head sweats? My husband is bald and sweats profusely with his CPAP on. It wakes him up and he pulls off the CPAP for the night. Very frustrating. We are desperate for a solution.

Sounds like either inadequate therapy or he's too warm.resipiscent1 wrote:Have any of you had a problem with head sweats? My husband is bald and sweats profusely with his CPAP on. It wakes him up and he pulls off the CPAP for the night. Very frustrating. We are desperate for a solution.
Does he have a heated humidifier on his machine? Is it set too high?
Head sweats are typical of untreated sleep apnea or inadequate therapy.
Does he have a data-capable machine? If so, does he monitor his therapy with software?
Does he use a nasal mask? (one that covers only the nose)
If so, does he leak air out his mouth while he sleeps?

get a thermometer to check the room temp
open a window to help bring the temp down
you wont be sorry
Re: Head sweats
I've been using xPAP machines for years and never had a problem with my head feeling warm until I started using a different pillow and pillowcase. Always used a jersey cotton pillowcase and slept fine. Switched to microfiber (smooth, not even the flannel-ish kind) and suddenly I awake at night with a warm head! Perhaps a different sheet set, or even a more breathable pillow would help?
