Wanted DS 460 P (no script)

Post by slackmasterd » Fri Jan 31, 2014 5:15 pm

Hi Everyone,

Just passed the 1 year mark. Doing great.

I'm looking for a used (or new) DS 460 P WITHOUT the integrated tube heater (as I use supplemental oxygen at night). I lost my job a few months ago and have recently acquired a new position, however, it is 100+ miles away, so I'll be remote 4 nights a week and home 3 nights a week. I am looking to establish setup at each sleeping site.

Here is the rub, my prescription is expired and I don't have health insurance at the moment. I have looked at craigslist in my area, but the two DS460P's I have come across are more expensive than just buying a "commercial" used unit (secondwindcpap(dot)com). However, without a prescription, I'm out of luck.

Does anyone have a new or used DS460P for sale?

Thanks for your time

Check it out...my prescription is 3 years old and I was never asked to update it. Often they are a "forever" prescription. If necessary, any doctor, physicians assistant or dentist can write you a prescription.

If I were you, I'd simply contact the Craigslist sellers (often not the most informed individuals regarding CPAP prices) and explain the facts of life to them, just like our members often do on this forum regarding someone who is trying to sell machines at inflated prices. I don't think sellers are trying to rip anybody off, in general, but they often have too high expectations regarding their prices. I hope you get the machine that you need

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Been down that road. Supposedly the DME is offer $450 for one and the other won't budge of his inflated price.

If you haven't already, open up your search criteria to include large metropolitan areas like L.A., Chicago, Philly, Vegas... etc.

So, was there actually an "expiration date" written on your prescription? I uploaded my prescription to CPAP.com and they tell me it is good "indefinitely".

Did you actually check with secondwindcpap.com to see if your script was acceptable or not.
If they have what you want at a price you want and won't accept your script....at least ask them because most of the time they the RXs are for life not matter what might be on the paper.

If they can't do it and you found one there that suits your needs and you can't find anything else privately.....I have and idea to help you get what you want. Send me a private message for details.
