Built-in leak rate of the Innomed Hybrid

Post by digitalepiphany » Thu Jan 30, 2014 9:19 pm

Does anyone know what the built-in leak rate is for the Hybrid? This is my fourth mask and I've finally gotten my leaks down, but they still hover in the mid-30s L/min. I'm trying to get a better idea what my actual leak rate is so that I can make better adjustments.

Your machine...reports excess leak only and the vent rate is removed prior to reporting.
It's a generic vent rate...for full face mask (choice in the mask menu) so there might be a little bit of variances but if you are still seeing leaks above the 24 L/min line...they are still excessive.

Now if you were using the Respironics machine then we could use the vent rate number.

We can't play with your S9 leak numbers to make them any better....so sorry.

No biggie. I used whitebeard's fix for the pillows, so now I have to figure out where the rest of the leaks are coming from. The main problem at this point is that the noise from the vents is louder than any potential leaks. Of course, the leak rate went up after I fell asleep, so that doesn't help me any.

What was the fix for the pillows? I keep going back and forth on what pillow size to use.

First link shows Whitebeard's modification to the Mirage Liberty -- last two show mods to the Hybrid. You'll need to scroll down to see pics; in essence, he connects various elastic bands to the headgear to pull the pillows up for a tighter fit.

Here's my SleepyHead data from last night. It looks like I finally got the right size mouth cushion, and whitebeard's fix seems to be working.

If you have something that works, fine.

I use a strap made from one leg of a pair of tights. Simple, easy, don't even know I have it on.
