New Machine

Post by allenw88 » Tue Jan 28, 2014 9:00 pm

So I received my new machine today. I got the REMstar Pro C-Flex+ w/ Humidifier. My question is though what exactly does this do? The "pressure reduction"? Does this allow me to exhale without in problems? Is that what it is? Thank you

Yes - that's what it does.

So is it the higher the number the easier it is to exhale or the other way around?

Your machine isn't an Auto so you'll have one constant pressure but the Cflex will reduce the pressure on exhale depending on how you set it. #1 gives the least reduction, #2 a bit more and #3 the most relief.

CFlex exhale relief

and mollete put it in maybe easier and more practical terms.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=88991&hilit=+CPAP+Basics+re%3A

It's hard to put into words what it feels like it does but from my experience it seemed to soften the transition and let me feel like the pressure I as exhaling against was next to nothing....it's more of a timing for the reduction than it is a straight reduction with sudden drop.
Just play with the settings to see which one you like the best. There's a demo available under the Flex menu on the LCD screen. I found that the higher settings tended to make me want to breathe a little to fast..but the setting of 2 was just perfect...everyone's different though...so play with it to see which you like the best.

Did you get the provider manual yet?
You can request it here
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
Make sure you request the exact model....either 450 (Respironics System One Pro with CFlex+) or if you have model 460 then it is the respironics System One 60 series Pro with CFlex+
Instructions for requesting the manual via email are down at the bottom...just make sure to get exact model name.

Here a quick setup guide for getting to the clinical setup menu with pictures

SleepyHead works well with this machine. Encore is also available...if you want to try it send me a private note but include your computer operation system.

Check the bottom of the blower unit for model number...if you have a 460 machine you have some limited APAP capabilities.
