Pad a Cheek for CL2 - Helped my fit...

Post by apneaicinisrael » Wed Jun 14, 2006 2:35 am

Hi Forum Friends,

I was happy to receive my pad a cheek for CL2 yesterday. It looks simple and soft and even smells good! I installed it on my headgear without any difficulty. I found I had to loosen the straps a bit afterwards to accomodate the new bulk.

Before the pad, I hadn't thought that the forhead/head piece was too problematic, but I have to say that with the fleece cover it is REALLY nice and comfy. And most important of all, it has stabilized the headgear for me. I found that with the pad, the whole contraption was really quite stable and didn't slip at all. Before the pad, I had noticed that parts of the forehead piece and connected headpiece didn't make contact with my head so were not adding to stability. Even when I switched around and adjusted the straps.

I will keep this on my CL2, Summer and Winter. I really like it. Thanks, Karen!

Sincerely,
AII

I looked on the pad-a-cheek website and didn't see anything for the ComfortLite 2. Where did you find it? I'm having problems with my CL2 not staying on. I have medium length hair and I never thougt about it but I guess it's pretty silky. Last night I put it in a ponytail and the mask still managed to come off. Of course, I was having trouble with taking both nasal and full face masks off my self during the night and I don't think there was any way they were just falling off. The CL2 is the most comfortable one I've tried and I still don't make it all the way to morning, but I think I'm getting pretty close! More info would be greatly appreciated!

HI,

It is probably not on the web site yet as it is still being developed, but if you e-mail Karen at Pad-a -Cheek I am sure she can help you. Try putting the straps of the CL2 under your hair, not on top of your hair. And play with the placement of the two velcro straps, the lower two slots have worked best for me. I hope this works for you!! It is like a miracle finding "the" mask!
Good luck,

AII

I also tried a Pad-a-forehead with the ComfortLite II.

As expected it did a good job at preventing morning marks on my forehead.

But what really impressed me was that the pad-a-forehead gave me the ability to optimize the fit of the ComforLite II to my head by adjusting the amount of cushioning between head piece and my scalp.

By placing filling material between the pad and the CLII cushions, I was able to adjust the fit of the CLII so that the mask exactly fit the contour of my skull.

Now that the head piece fits better, I was able to tighten both straps to the same tension, eliminating any tendency of the mask to ride up on my head.

The net effect was no leaks or motion of the CLII regardless of how much I tossed and turned.

Has any one else tried this approach?

The CLII is a great improvement compared to the original ComfortLite. The ability to tailor the CLII fit with this pad has made it even better for me.

Hi, the CL2 slips off to the right on me and does not sit down flat on my head, so have had some bad nights with leaks I cannot stop for long. even my good old Breeze let me down one night, frustration!
Can you describe this pad you are using please, maybe I'll try an old shoulder pad in the meantime.
My head seems to be too small or too round or something. Although I am normally a nasal pillow user I have found that I have been getting less leaks using the nose cover piece.
