Local DME supplied unit and mask...
Doctor just sent me a copy of my script...
I want to buy some masks on-line. Does prescription work like glasses...as in I can buy as many as I want? Or will I be limited in any way?
I want to keep my DME supplying via my insurance at current intervals...and then venture out on-line to try new things and pay 100% myself.
Thanks

Re: Prescription question
Make a copy of the prescription and it is good at multiple places. Fax/send/scan the prescription to as many DME's as you want. Normally, the prescription is good for one year. That reminds me... cpap.com probably needs an updated one....

As many as you can pay for.

Re: Prescription question
My Rx specifically says indefinite refills. Barring any break though in OSA treatment, CPAP is a lifelong therapy - why wouldn't your doc prescribe an indefinite Rx?

Easy answer.. because every time you have to have a new sleep test to get a new prescription....... wait for it........bavinck wrote:My Rx specifically says indefinite refills. Barring any break though in OSA treatment, CPAP is a lifelong therapy - why wouldn't your doc prescribe an indefinite Rx?
somebody makes a pot full of $$$$$$$
When I went to get a copy of my rx, the RT said "why do you need it, its only good for a year" Needless to say, I have been using the same rx at both of the suppliers I use for 4 years....... and the original ones are NOT my supplier, I fired their sorry asses after they sold me a brick for $1600 cash.

Re: Prescription question
My Rx at cpap.com is for 99 months.
Apria and Medicare want fresh paperwork every year.
Probably to make sure I don't score any free gummint swag after I'm dead.
