Forgive me if I'm repeating information here, but I did a search and didn't come up with much at all about the oral TAP appliance as an option for treating OSA.
Quick background - I was diagnosed with OSA several years ago and have tried CPAP therapy sporadically, as I can bear it, since then. I've also had the Pillar Procedure done. Niether of these treatments seem to work for me, and the CPAP causes so much stomach distress that I can't sustain using it continually ... anyway ...
My cousin is a dentist and she just got me the TAP appliance to try ... I'm curious what experience any of you have with the appliance, and if it's been effective for you? I guess I'm a bit skeptical since nothing has been effective for me so far, and a device that pushes my lower jaw forward just seems a little underwhelming to me ... but hey, if it makes a believer out of me, then I'm happy.
Anyone with experiences, good or bad?
Thanks ahead of time for your response!
Just got a TAP Appliance ... feedback?
XPAP will be effective, if you have the right equiptment, and are willing to use it correctly, but it's not waterproof, you can't use it, in De-Nile.
Lots of prople try lots of things, the overall sucess rates are much higher with XPAP than using other treatments, and very little pain is involved with XPAP treatment, just a little mind over matter. Jim
