How many hours a night do you sleep poll
Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
I get very restful sleep with CPAP. I usually sleep 7-8 hours straight through. My 7 hour nights are my fault, as being retired, I enjoy staying up to midnight, sometimes 1 AM, surfing the web or watching tv. On those 7 hour nights, I usually take an hour and a half nap in the late afternoon.
Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
Hi, Yep i need 10-12hrs of sleep with cpap machine to feel good...and then I still feel sleeply what gives? Machine settings not right or do I need Auto-bipap machine?CAsleep wrote:I am the 10+. Surprised I'm the only one so far....but not really, because I look around in my life and don't know anyone else that sleeps as much as me. Even after 10-13 hours, I get out of bed very reluctantly (still sleepy).
Anyone here USED to sleep 10+ hours every night, before CPAP, and it got better? Still hasn't gotten better for me yet, so we're not sure exactly what the cause is. It is extremely frustrating.
Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
Lately I've been sleeping (or trying to sleep) 10 to 12 hours a night. Try 6pm to 6am. I don't know why, maybe Im so sleep deprived my body is trying to recover lost hours. Every since I got my S9 auto I've been dreaming like crazy. When there's nothing on tv, shoot, I hit the sack for dreamland!

Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
I sleep as much as needed to function. Feet hit floor every morning between 5:15 and 6:15. I have a particular pastor I watch on televisionat 6:30. If up early do Bible study then preaching. Sleep late and Bible has to follow. If feel really tired will take nap. Some days acuple hours then to work, others till lunch time then off to work, some I sleep till dinner. Most nights I go to bed between 8:00pm and 10:00. Some days I get home from work, shower and hit the hay. Often even with an early bed time I lay in bed with mask and may not get to sleep until 4:00am. Stinking apnea. Worst nusinance I have ever encountered. Everything else doctor gave me some pills or did surgery and all got better this apnea thing seems helpless at times. Thus I sleep from 3 to 18 hours. Sometimes I will hit the high number three days in a row. Same with low. Average sleep time is 8.5 hours and average mask time is 7.1 hours.

Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
Due to some reasons I sleep 6 hours daily. I have no any restriction to sleep but this is my tie what I feel that I can sleep well.
Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
I put 9, but I need 10 to really feel good. That is hard to do! It is hard to go to bed at 7:30... I am still working and that 6 am comes so soon!

I get around 6, but in the last month or so, I've tried to nudge it up closer to 7. Currently the 30 day average is about 6.36.

Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
I find that once I wake up that the therapy becomes such a distraction that I rarely get back to sleep again. If I manage six straight hours then I'm doing well. I tend to nap another 2 times at least for an hour or so each time during the day as well.

Why frustrating? Not meeting an arbitrary hours of sleep goal or still not rested when you get upCAsleep wrote:I am the 10+. Pre-CPAP my goal was always for +10 hrs because that's what I've needed for as long as I can remember, post-cpap 8 hrs works, but to be honest I miss that time in the middle of the night I used to have, laying in bed snuggling with my wife, listening to her breath, looking at the stars and listening to the wind.
The operative question is how do feel, as opposed to how many hours of are you getting. If you aren't feeling better engage in the discussions here as there is a boatload of experience to be had. If you on the other hand feel good after an 10 hrs night, enjoy life, don't worry about some 8 hr magic sleep number.

Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
After reading about different sleep cycles in different countries it makes me feel better that I don't have to fit a a mold . In the USA we think its abnormal to get less than 8 hours of continuous sleep . We need to accept different rhythms that fit our life style ,being retired is one of them . A siesta is good for a lot of us .
It is apparent to me that the poll numbers would be better if broken down in half hours. My good nights run about 6.5 hours . Sleeping like a baby for 10 hours is way out of reach for me to ever see again . I feel better on cpap and some energy has been restored, I do things at 68 that a lot of 50 year olds can no longer do.
I accept the things I can no longer do . I take pride in doing what I can while I can .
Take care of yourself and keep trying.

Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
When I factor in the number of times I wake up (and the time it takes me to get back to sleep), 6 hours a night is probably about the best I can get. I have to get up and go to work so I don't have the luxury of staying in bed past a certain time. I am trying to improve the total number of hours of sleep I get. Six hours does not cut it for me! I need to be getting at least 7 hours (at a minimum) to feel rested.

Re: How many hours a night do you sleep poll
Just checked the run time average on my brick and it states almost 6 hours
So with initial sleep latency of about an hour you can do the math. No where near where I need it to be. half tempted to spend the money for the cable at our hosts site to see what is there beyond run time on this FP 234. but then again it does blow air into my mask and helps me to not die in my sleep
