Any encore type software with old Remstar Pro2 and Mac?

Post by mrammell » Fri Dec 27, 2013 8:10 pm

I have tried several machines over the years and use a smaller one when I travel but have loved the old Remstar Pro2 w/c-flex and have been lucky twice after I wore out my first machine by finding two with only demo hours on them. I've put over 150,000 hours on my current machine. Trusty old dog. Anyway, I used to use Encore software on an old Windows XP laptop but I switched to Mac computers several years ago and I'm not going back to windows. Ever. Anyway the "card" in the Remstar is the big ole credit card size data card and I'm curious if any newer software for Macs would still utilize the old Remstar system? Thanks

Would Sleepyhead (free download here) for Mac be what you want? I also used Encore on the Intel side of my iMac but haven't for years now, and did DL SH/Mac a while ago, though actually don'† use it to speak of now either, but take a code off the screen of my machine and get basic stuff from little feature on Cpap.com that translates the code directly.

All I can say is good luck. Not sure if the old reader (it was "special" and not available from standard suppliers of card readers) for the first version cards would be compatible with the Mac - then there is the question of whether the format was different from the current one. Quite possibly was. So, again, good luck.
