This is a screenshot of the uploaded data from my CMS50E that shows up in the SpO2 Review software occasionally, but not always. This makes the data unusable. So far no replies from queries to facelake.com where I bought the pulse/oximeter. Anybody got any idea what's happening here?

This looks like your hand is moving quite a bit and disturbing the meter's ability to measure SpO2 values.
Do you have RLS?

RLS - Restless Leg Syndrome.
Your legs and sometimes arms twitch and move at night when you are asleep.

I think it's a computer/software problem. The actual line for blood ox looks normal, but the vertical columns are some confusion in the software. It's pretty limited software!! If the actual graph line looks comparable to days when it doesn't apply the columns, go with that and ignore the columns.

I agree with you kwikwater. The graph line is what I would expect it to be; trouble is, this interferes with the report items like average blood/ox and so forth. Kinda defeats the purpose. Rather irritated with Facelake for not getting back to me on my query about it. Of course if IS a software problem as we suspect, they won't be fixing the problem any time soon anyway. Do you know of any other software that could be used with the CMS50E?
And, by the way JDS74, I don't have RMS. Thanks for the reply though.

Zoom in on the "pulses." You'll probably find it's where you're moving and getting no reading for that short period of time.
If the O2 level drops from 95 down to 80 or less in a few seconds, it's not a real reading. You'll often see that the line changes from green to grey, indicating an invalid reading.
Also, if it's a real apnea, your pulse rate usually goes up at the same time.
Some of this is just the way pulseoxen work. Trying to read O2 through the skin is tricky.

Another thought is you got some corrupted software. Delete the copy you have and search on " CMS50E software" and you'll get tons of other vendors that put the software out there.

Good point. I did re-install from the disk I got with the oximeter, but as you say--it could have been a bad disk. I'll do as you suggest.

I think the problem is mechanical and has nothing to do with the software.
Take another look at your data but this time use a 10 or 1 minute time frame. Do you see any areas where the line is grayed out?
If so that means that you are seeing artifacts where the signal stopped being collected. This can be caused by nail polish... , callouses, or your finger slipping or moving around inside the oximeter.
Since it is "unusual" to sleep with something clamped on your finger, the natural tendency is to try to wiggle your finger out of the device. People work around this by focusing on the benefits the oximeter can give (mental acceptance of having something squishing your finger), or putting some tape starting at your palm working over the oximeter and ending up on the back of your had, or putting your hand in a sock or glove to hold everything in place. Another thought is to try a different finger. Some are more sensitive to having something clamped on them than others.
With some determination and practice you should end up with good data.
SpO2 96+% and holding...

Just collect data for an hour or so during the day and then download and display it. Does it look good? If it does not try a different finger. If you just slip on your finger and look at the display does it provide PR and O2 levels? This bypasses memory and software altogether.

Have you tried importing the pulse/ox data into SleepyHead to see if it displays any better? It would be nice if you could pull it into Excel to see if the data writes a clean graph!! The CMS folks have a VERY proprietary database!!
