Uggh - Is this is how it is supposed to feel?

Post by tempest » Thu Dec 19, 2013 9:45 pm

I have a more than dry nose, my face feels raw and is very red, I have the lines that seem to last forever on my face, my nose is killing me, it just plain freaking hurts! Uggh

On a positive note, hubby says I have slept, without moving and snoring (of which, I keep saying that I don't snore) the best I have in years, and really, I feel like I have slept. Not that I feel 'better', but I do feel as if I have SLEPT.

But seriously, the nose thing...it makes it worse because I have to wear glasses to see. But the end of the day, I feel as if my nose is so sore and tender. Uggh

As far as help from my DME? Well, it is the VA, so not much help there folks. Just saying. I asked what I was to do with the data card, and she said nothing, it just needed to be in there. I asked about followup visits, she said there are none. I asked if there would be adjustments made, there are none apparently. This is the setting and this is how it will be, that is how I feel. Uggh

There are liners that an be used. In he meantime find some old clean cotton tshirts lay your mask on it and cut around leaving at least and inch. Cut a small hole in the centre and try it on, keep enlarging the hole until it just fits. Padacheek is a member who sells wonderful liners and strap covers.

Your DME tech is an dimwit who failed kindergarden.

Add your equipment to your profile and people will tell you haw to read your data assuming you were not ripped off with a "brick"

Sorry, thought that I did that already, not sure why that isn't popping in there. I admit that I am not the most technically savvy of individuals.

Give me a glue gun and some sparkles and I am in business, but add a computer and I am quite the goober.

I have a PR System One REMstar Pro CPAP Machine with C-Flex Plus, Amara full mask and a humidifier thing on it as well.

The link is broken to the PR System One Pro CPap modle 450...if that is what you have and have chosen as it is a discontinued model.
Model number is a 3 digit number on the bottom of the blower unit..probably preceded by DS or REF.
So with the link being broken it doesn't show up in the equipment profile.
If you have the model 450...where you have it listed in comments is fine.
If you have the model 460 then the correct choice would be PR System One 60 series Pro CPAP and that link is working.

Sent you a private message so check your private message box..upper left next to the User Control panel.

In the baby products of your pharmacy is a pure lanolin product used for a mother's nipples. A tiny amount is very soothing to your nostrils. It is not harmful to your mask as it is like your own oil. If you get it on your mask it won't hurt it and can be washed off in warm soapy water.

The Amara mask has a reputation for tearing up the bridge of the nose. If that is what is happening to you I would suggest trying something else.

Hi,

This is a really good sign. This indicates that if you can solve the mask issue, everything will fall into place. I struggled with a number of full face masks because I was branded as one of those dreaded "mouth breathers". My face just doesn't work with a full face mask. I have a high cheek bone, so it will either seal on the top or the bottom, but not in both places. What worked for me was a nasal pillow mask. Once I found the Swift LT, life got a lot better for me. Unfortunately, everyone's face is different, so your solution will likely be different than my solution. The mask liners really work well for some folks. Also, see if you can swap for a different mask to try. For example, I occasionally use a ComfortGel Blue mask if my nose is hopelessly plugged up.
