Howdy,
I have been looking to upgrade my cPAP machine to a more advanced and feature rich unit. I am very interested learning a bit more about the data gathering abilities of these machines. I am wondering if some machines gather more accurate data than others and also a bit about the software to view the data. It looks like there are some primary statistics that are important, AHI, AI, HI, leak data, and pressure used. I do wonder how accurate the data is, I figure if it was REALLY accurate they wouldn't need all the sensors for a sleep study...still it sounds like really interesting info to have.
I have had a few experiances where I slowly over time my sleep quality degraded without me noticing. Most recently I didn't even notice that I felt more tired than normal till I caught myself drinking caffinated soda to get an extra pep for the day. I tightened my mask, got much better results, and felt much better the next day. Those are the type of experiance I am hoping I could avoid by having the data handy each day. I figure that if I see a jump in the numbers I would know to make an adjustment.
Is there any major differences when you factor in the various software packages? Is this a case where the data is the data regaudless of what hoops you need to jump through to get it? Anything I should avoid or take into consideration when evaluating that aspect of the vairous aPAP machines?
Thanks!
