Is heated hose working?

Post by decatur11 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 12:38 pm

How can I tell if my heated hose is working? It always feels quite cold. I'm still pretty new at this and want to be sure my equipment is all OK before I pay for it. Thanks for any advice.

When I was using the S9 and the Climateline hose, the hose never felt "warm" to the touch to me.
You might try using the lowest temperature available for about 45 minutes and then increase the temperature to the max of 86 degrees (give it about 30 minutes to get there) and see if you can feel any difference in the air temp going to your face.
Even at 86 degrees the hose never felt warm to the touch but the air was noticeably warmer.

Otherwise..maybe use a thermometer at the mask level to check temperature of the air????

Remember even at the highest setting the temperature is lower than your body temperature..so it will feel somewhat cooler just because your body is up around 98 degrees.
The hose itself...was never noticeably warm to touch but I know it was working because I didn't have rain out and I would use almost all the water in the tank each night.
