Need moisture but not heat

So, I guess the next question is -- what should my next machine be, to get some humidity but not heat?

If sticking with the Respironics brand...one of the 60 series machines with the heated hose. It's an option available and only available with 60 series blowers and humidifiers. So you can set each setting independent of the other setting.

System One Relative Humidity:

Setting 1 = 70%
Setting 2 = 80%
Setting 3 = 90%

Heated Tubing Temperature Range: 16º to 32º C (60º to 89º) settings 1 through 5.
based on 4 to 16 degrees above room temperature.
It can't put out colder air than it is sucking in but you can use a setting of 1 and get minimal heat and not sacrifice humidity like we have to do with the heat only humidifiers.

Lately, I've only been able to wear my mask for a couple of hours each night because after that I wake with a throat so dry and sore that I can't tolerate it. I can't use the heated humidifier because I require a cold environment in order to sleep.

If you have a nasal mask/pillows this means you are mouth breathing.
If not, then you really do need to use the humidifier but you don't have to have it turned all the way up.

Well, duh. Apparently the sore throat is not caused by the dry air, it's just exacerbated by it. It's caused by acid reflux, which I didn't realize until it suddenly got extremely, noticeably bad. Once that is resolved (I'm on medication now), I'm hoping things get better. I'm still going to have the problem of windows freezing open from the condensation, but at least it will be the same as in prior years, now that I don't have to keep cranking the humidifier up extra high. I'm relieved. In many respects.

I had terrible trouble coping with the heat and hot flashes. Having to cover my face with a CPAP mask made it worse but I have turned to "SleepWeavers Elan" cloth mask and it has changed everything. The mask is so pleasant and cool to wear after those horrible silicone/plastic masks which retain heat and make you sweat more
