My next sleepdoc appointment is .....one year from now!

Post by ellen1159 » Tue Dec 03, 2013 11:02 am

Saw my sleepdoc this morning for the first time since August, when I was struggling to use the machine for an hour a night. I now mask up every night and for the most part fall asleep within minutes and even if I wake briefly during the night, it's to turn over and adjust my mask straps and go back to sleep until the light wakes me up . I get 8 hours every night, sometimes 9 if I don't have to get up early. What a difference from when I started out back in May, terrified and turned off by this machine and the hurricane force winds battering my face.

My doc was thrilled with my progress, and made my next appointment for one year from now.

I would not be doing this well if it weren't for the support and compassion from the people on this board. Thank you so much.

If you awake at night, do you have to put your hand in the exhaust air to confirm the machine is on? Not the hurricane we first felt. Congratulations!

Good job Ellen.
You are a testimony to anyone who thinks they will NEVER be able to manage this therapy. You have come a long, long way from your first night. You just wouldn't give up and sometimes that's what it takes. Not everyone takes to this therapy like a duck to water.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
