I know many of use use these power strips/surge protectors with our CPAP equipment and most likely have some around the house on computers etc.
The surge protectors can overheat, smoke and melt, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves APC 7 and 8 series SurgeArrest surge protectors manufactured before 2003.

Hmmm. I just bought one of those. I'll have to flip it over and see if its affected by the recall. Thanks for the input.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Typical ... The APC American Power Corpoation surge protectors come from China or the Phillipines.

Great info. We got the information about the APC recall here at work. I do not think I have any APC ones at the house. I will be getting one (NOT APC) for my CPAP machine today.

APC generally makes quality products, cheaper product lines can be expected to be cheaper made. As far as foreign made, good luck, the U.S.A. is out of the production business, it's a sad fact! You wanted cheap products, bussiness moved overseas for cheap labor, and kept the prices high. Our government did nothing to keep manufacturing in the USA, not they don't even get paid corp taxes of products xold here made overseas. Jim

I had a Pro APC power strip here that was affected by the recall. Just got a replacement from Schneider Electric , who seem to be the guys handling the APC power strip recall. The one I got as a replacement is definitely not as well made, but hopefully it won't be fire hazard, anyways. I also have a later Pro version (newer) that was not affected by the recall, that one's just fine *smile*. It took a couple of months for the replacement to get here.
I was really amazed that it took that long to replace a power strip that they said was a fire hazard, didn't make a lot of sense to me. Saved them money on shipping, though, I'll bet.
