Resmed Swift FX nasal mask

Has anyone any experience with the Resmed Swift FX nasal pillow mask? Thinking about getting one.

I used one for a long time. Liked it. The new Wisp came out. It was Great ......for about a month. I went back to the FX. I am a side sleeper. You have to learn how to bunch up your pillow so your mask does not move and leak.

I've been using this mask for over two years now with the use of dab of Lansinoh (lanolin)to prevent nasal irritation and a Pad-a-Check barrel cozy to stabilize the pillow from going to far up my nostril. You can read or watch TV with this mask on with an unobstructed view. After the adjustment period, this mask feels like just donning a nasal cannula. Also, the pillows clean up within a minute. Only one drawback for me, is the pillow, not the headgear, has to be changed a bit more frequently; hence many insurances provide two/mo, so you can usually have a pillow to spare.

Wow! I've been using the same cushion for over 8 months, but it is nearing replacement!

I tried a couple of full face mask, a hybrid mask, a total face mask and then finally tried the swift FX. I wish I had started with this mask first and saved all the aggravation. It's not a perfect mask, but it sure beats a lot of the mask on the market.

I used it for a long time... it's a good mask and comfortable. I recently switched to the Resmed Nano, which I like even better.

I have been using the Swift 2. I hate it. I think I will try this one. Is there really any perfect, non-obtrusive mask?

You have been using the Swift II nasal pillows that looks like a scuba snorkel? If that is what you have been using I think you will be very pleasantly surprised with the Swift FX nasal pillows.
It's just about as minimal as they can get. I used the Swift LT nasal pillows (still an improvement over the Swift II IMHO) until the Swift FX was released...so use the FX for about 2 1/2 years until this past spring when the Tap Pap nasal pillow mask was released.

There are pros and cons to any mask out there. We just have to find one that suits our own personal needs the best with more pros than cons. Everyone has different priorities though, so one person's pro might be another persons con.

The Swift FX is a very popular mask with lots of satisfied users. There is a good chance that you will be happy with it also.
If not, there are some other very good choices out there that would still be probably less intrusive than the Swift II happens to be.
I briefly tried the Swift II at the DME office when I first started therapy and there was just too much "stuff" around my face and that's why I settled on the Swift LT at that time....then jumped to the FX when it was released and then to the Tap Pap when it was released. "Stuff" on my face and head is something that is a priority for me. So now I use a mask without any headgear. I can use the others but I prefer the Tap Pap...click on the link to it in my profile to see if it is interesting to you.

Been using the Swift FX since I got my machine 6 months ago. Even with tossing and turning a lot I have few leaks and recently have recorded Zero AHI a number of times. Key to the Swift FX is to not over-tighten the straps. Let the pillows inflate and do the sealing. I'm only running 6 pressure so your mileage may vary from mine.

I love the Swift FX mask. As another poser stated, the trick is to not tighten the mask too much.

I tried it but didn't have good luck with it. I still have it and have been thinking of trying to use it again as the one I have now makes a lot of noise. I don't think I put it on correctly because it hurt.

You might be hearing air coming out of the holes right where the hose come off the pillows. You usually can''t hear it unless your covers get right in front of the air stream. Then it can make some noise.

The Swift FX was for me, the first mask that . . . did . . . not . . . hurt.
That was huge!

I also vote for the FX. I got it in May and have not used anything else since.To sleep on my side I have one of those pillows with the cutouts and it's perfect.
It's made it so I actually ENJOY being on the blower.
