i meant that you want the remstar auto which has exhale relief in auto mode, the s8 doesn't do that, so tell them you want an auto that has exhale relief in auto mode,
they should know that it's not possible with the s8, if not educate them, once you have the script you can also see if it's for an auto, if not see if your sleep doc will give you one that does.
if they ask why you need your script tell them it's none of their business, it's your script, i asked my dme for mine and it was faxed to me within 5 minutes, i didn't have to tell them why.

Get Blown!
The question becomes can I switch DME's at the 1 month mark? It sounds difficult at best even though my insurance isn't locked to this DME. I like my DME. She did work with me on getting this APAP. This is a tough decision. I guess it really comes down to how much not having C-flex is bothering me. I don't have any problems falling asleep. I seem to rely a bit on the force of air to breath so I'm kind've going with it's flow. I don't wake up in the night anymore from too high a pressure or too low even though it gets up to 17.2 sometimes.
I feel like I already won this battle once and got my way but to do it again is just getting rude. And then my concern focuses more on whether or not the fact that the algorhthms are different really matter? The Respironics seems to respond to everything while the Resmed product waits until after the apnea and then resumes it's regular routine.

well you can always keep the s8 and then if you still want the remstar auto you could try to find a decent used one for around 4 bills, or just get a new one without humidifier for 610 or with humidifier for 100 bux more that way you can have the s8 fortravel and the remstar for home use.

Good point about having one all packed up for travel. I was wondering why someone might need a back-up anyway.

I was in a similiar situation as you, and I just bought the S8 Vantage although I could have waited for the new remstar mseries auto. It was a trade off ... cflex which I may or may not like vs having an excellent display system for my stats in the morning. I don't really find it that hard at all to get to sleep or stay asleep with my pressure.
