Thank you for your input DoriC. ) 0.0AHI was never my goal to begin with. All I wanted were the same numbers I had when I used a nasal mask which was around 0.3AHI and under. I just reached a point where I wanted to make sure I was doing everything possible to have successful therapy, because I would just throw on the mask and wake up feeling bad. I was done with that.
There were many variables that I had to look at, and trust me, I did feel stressed out about them. But not too much. I reassured myself, because this is not rocket science. I got myself and autoset, and it's pretty much been trail and error and just remembering things from the past! These efforts are not in vain! They will pay off.
When I focused on the big picture I knew it wasn't a serious issue. I had 2 seprate sleep studies done, both confirming the 9cmH20 needed to keep my throat open. And both studies came up with the same diagnosis, mild sleep apnea. So I knew it was something simple related to how my therapy was delivered (e.g. type of mask, chinstrap or no chin strap etc...). I took the time to logically think about what was possibly going on. And most things came down to how I used the equipment, and that's in the ballpark.
You see, the sleep studies were done on my back. But I never sleep on my back! So, the pressure is not right for me because I sleep on my stomach. I assumed I needed more pressure in this posture, and my autoset confirmed this.
All I did was look at 5 areas and made sure I was doing my part. a) Mask, b) Fit, and c) Chinstrap,d) Sleep Position, and e) AutoSet.
