Hi everyone. I had my first sleep study last weekend, and tonight, I am trying out the cpap to determine what my pressure should be. Any tips? Kinda worried I won't be able to fall asleep with the mask on.
Thanks.

Re: I have my follow up test tonight
Hi Lori,
I found I slept better with the mask than I did during the first (diagnostic) study. They had a questionaire to fill out in the morning. One of the questions asked about how the night's sleep compared to your normal sleep. At the first study, I made a big deal about them not having a choice worse than "much worse than normal". At the second sleep study, with the CPAP and mask, I was a bit hesitant to mark it as "better than normal", but it was.
Don't worry about it. If you have trouble breathing, let the tech know, and they will probably just bump the pressure. Just relax and breathe and don't fight the mask. You will be fine.

Re: I have my follow up test tonight
Maybe my titration was unusual, but when I was fitted with the nasal pillow mask and the air pressure was adjusted appropriately, I experienced a physical sense of peace and calm while breathing. Yes, the mask and sensors were extra/unusual, but I still had a sense of peace that this treatment was what my brain and body were looking for. It was reassuring to me. Even though my sleep quality was not the best during the titration, I left in the morning knowing that I was going in the right direction toward cpap treatment.
