shipping to Europe/newbie
Greetings everybody!
I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post.
After years of mounting, mysterious symptoms, I have finally reached the conclusion that I have OSA, and my doctor agrees. My sleep study was a couple of weeks ago.
Although I am American, I am currently living in the Netherlands. It is cheaper and generally more convenient for me to order from cpap, and I recently ordered an IntelliPAP with software, as well as a couple of different masks to try out.
My question is for anybody living in Europe, or the Netherlands: how quickly did your shipment reach you, and did you have any issues with customs?
According to tracking, my equipment has arrived in NL, but I'm still fearing long waits for customs processing or exorbitant import duties. I've been at a point for a while where I'm so tired throughout the day that it's taking a toll on my work and life, and I'm *very* eager to begin treatment ASAP. Or, maybe I'm just impatient
I do get the feeling that cpap has done this before and is very professional when it comes to shipping.
Thanks, and it's nice to finally join the community.

Hello! I live in Sweden and cpap.com refuses to send things from ResMed and Philips to me. I think they are denied it by ResMed and Philips.

Re: shipping to Europe/newbie
god kväll! Sweden is a lovely country.
I knew about the Resmed and Phillips restrictions and avoided their products.
Everything has made it to Holland, just wondering mostly about the times it takes for customs to process and the taxes on the shipments. I imagine it's fairly, sort of similar across Western Europe...

I do not know how long it takes for them to complete the package. But feel free to let me know when you know.

I just hope Phillips and ResMed take note that they are losing sales like this to their competitors. Money speaks with a loud and insistent voiceDayofLavos wrote:god kväll! Sweden is a lovely country.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Yeah, I was pretty unhappy when I originally ordered a bunch of Phillips equipment and learned about the restrictions. I mostly find it ironic that a Dutch company won't allow their products to be shipped to Holland

Hey, Australians get shafted by ReSMed all the time.

Re: shipping to Europe/newbie
Took only one day to clear customs! Much easier than what I had expected.
I am really looking forward to seeing what a good night's sleep feels like

Isn't that the truth! I live less than 50k from Resmed's base at Bella Vista in suburban Sydney.chunkyfrog wrote:Hey, Australians get shafted by ReSMed all the time.
It cost me 1/3 (yup 66% less) to buy an S9 from the US and have it shipped, than it would cost if bought through my local CPAP shop.
Are they trying to make their prices more competitive in Australia? Nope they are trying to get importing them stopped.
Go figure!

You can always buy ResMed or Phillips and use a company like this to forward it to you. http://www.shipito.com/
