My problem with this one is that I don't think about it much. And it has never looked dirty to me. So I just change it every couple of months and call it a day. At least, if I remember *smile*.

I change mine twice a month. I get enough filters from the insurance company to change them at that interval. I would probably change mine out once a month if I was payin' outta' my pocket.

I bought a bunch of filters with intent to change them every couple weeks. We have a lot of particulates in the air here, and the filters were always very grey after a month in the machine.

But shortly after I bought the big pile of filters, I decided what I really needed was a serious air cleaner for my bedroom. Now the S9 filters always look new. They don't seal even when new, and the air cleaner doesn't leave much for them to catch anyway, but they might help a bit, and they're cheap compared to some of the other things I do to keep my allergies under control. Hence, every month I toss a wrinkled but still white filter and put in a new one.

ResMed says to replace them every 6 months or more often if necessary.

Remember, the filter is there to protect the machine itself, not the CPAP user. "Normal" human beings without CPAP breathe unfiltered air 24/7.

+1..........I don't think most CPAPers think about that. I replace mine at 3 months and they are as clean as they were when I put them in.

For the people that change them twice a month: do you change the filter even it is still white and doesn't show the need for a change?

I'm curious, want to do the right thing, and have my machine last as long as possible.

Thank you,
