It sounds like your mask may be positioned a little too high on your face. When I get a leak near my eyes, I reposition it a little lower and that fixes it.Jdouglas08 wrote:It's not the vent.. Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

I like these goggles, however I'd have to agree with CF on this sizing point. I read somewhere that the Dry Eyes Shop has a good return policy. I hope they do because these aren't cheap goggles, as I already warned everyone. Damn, they do seal good on my eyes tho, but I do have very average sized face. It'd be really cool if the creators could include an adjustable center bridge.chunkyfrog wrote:Those goggles only come in one size, non-adjustable center link.
If your face is small, forget it.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
I had that happen to me ALOT the first month. I spent the first month with the mask on wrong. The visiting nurse had it right the first time but I screwed it up. It wasn't until I joined this community that I realized my mistake and have since corrected it. You might want to google your mask and see if you are wearing it right. maybe talk to your therapist about it. Good luck!

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
What ever you do, find a way to stop the leaking into your eyes. I endured that problem while trying to make the Quattro Mirage work for me. I tried hints and fixes read about here on this forum. Unfortunately, they did not work for me. It was to the point that I couldn't open up my left eye for a minutes or so upon rising in the a.m. I switched to a hybrid style mask and started wearing a soft, fabric sleep mask. Problem was solved for me. In addition to the hybrid, I'm using the Quattro Air and thus far, no leaks by my eyes.

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
Help, I have been on on cpap just since 11/5/13. I have a DeVilbiss DV54 and a RES Med Swift FX face mask. I thought the face mast was to tight and made it loose. Then I made it a little more tight to keep air from my eyes. Today 11/24/13 it feels if my left eye is going to close. I also look if someone beat me up, with dryness also in the left eye. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to the tech that set me up with my CPAP machine. At least I have this site to get help and see the problems other people have with sleep apena.

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
I used the Swift FX for almost a year and it's so low on ones face I can't imagine how air gets into your eyes. I don't doubt your testimony but the only thing I can think of is you're sticking your face in your pillow and the air is bouncing back into your eyes or there's possibly a sheet/blanket redirecting the air upwards. Maybe you could give a better description of what's going on when you sleep and your positions, covers etccary69 wrote:Help, I have been on on cpap just since 11/5/13. Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
My Ophthalmologist MD, whom I have seen every 6 months for the last 3 years, when I asked him about it the first time, after I told him that I wash my eyes with faucet water (lightly wetting my fingers and rubbing my eyes) every time that I was going to urinate at night, he made a grimace and asked me "do you know what the faucet water contains?" and gave me an Rx for eye lubricant such as Refresh Optive , the 2nd time he said the same about faucet water and prescribed a Systane Gel, the 3rd time he said the same about faucet water and prescribed some other lubricant. But, I am happy using the faucet water. I am ready to repeat it even 3 times a night. It takes away my eyes dryness. When I'll see him again if he repeats that nonsense I'll ask him how does he washes his face when he takes a shower "with faucet water" and I'll punch that moron in the face.

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
Take a look at my signature below for "Taming the Mirage Quattro" . These tips work for any air cushion mask.
My trick is to loosen the mask as much as possible on the top straps (and on the Quattro I can also dial OUT the forehead piece). Tighten up the bottom straps near your chin to make up for it.
The theory is, that the air cushion will be fully filled with air and mold itself around your nose. If you crank down on the top straps, you lose that ability to mold the cushion around the shape of your nose and that's what causes the leakage.
Be sure to fit the mask with the air ON and at your highest set pressure, and laying down. Sitting up your face is a very different shape.

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
How/how often are you cleaning your mask? With every mask I have tried--not very many--I had a "honeymoon phase" (usually 5-10 days), where I was certain I had found the perfect mask. I cleaned it every day with soap and water, rinsed with vinegar solution, then rinsed again. After 5-10 days, the mask was no longer tacky and started leaking. I DID finally find a mask that fit well, but now I am cleaning daily it with a non-alcohol, non-fragrance, non-oil wipe and am only washing it every couple of weeks. I also found that it helped if I cleaned my face with the wipe. Just a thought.I will try to loosen it..It worked great for like 2 weeks and now i keep having to take it off or can't sleep because it's driving me crazy!!! Thank you everyone for the responses.

Keep the lower portion of the mask looser than the upper, this way if it leaks it will leak out the bottom instead of the top. Finding the right fitness, and the right mask, is on ongoing effort.

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!
I can hold my mask in my hand and run a test. I'll get the smiley every time. It blows in my eyes and now I feel like I have eye problems. If I tighten my mask to keep the air out, I wake up with bruises on my cheek bones. I was told my mask is the smallest they make for mouth breathers. A friend told me to request nose pillows, he's a mouth breather and uses it. Sleepmed says because I'm a mouth breather I can't use this. Sooooo I don't use my machine anymore. I can only sleep with it for about 4 hours before my eyes are sooo dry they feel like they are stuck in the socket and/or I have bruises on my cheek bones.

There are very many masks, types of masks available and you can see them, with info, pix, reviews on Cpap.com.

What mask are you using now? If it is a full face mask, you may have the wrong size.
