Personally I think I would lean towards taking it.

Definitely take it. I had a minor surgical procedure where I was put to sleep. On the way back to the recovery room I awoke gasping for air with 3 nurses trying to stick a breathing tube down my throat.

I'm no sure if I would, at least if the hospital followed the suggestion at the end of the article. My masks are far more portable than my machine, and I don't use any exhalation relief.

Just had a minor surgery, prior to leaving home I packed up my spare machine and mask and put it in the trunk of my daughters car....... just in case. She drove me to and from the hospital, should there have been a glitch in my recovery all she had to do was go out to the car and get my "stuff". I would rather be safe than sorry .
