Mask Swap

Post by coker737 » Mon Oct 14, 2013 3:27 am

For 7 years i have used a RESMED Mirage Quattro and it has performed outstanding. Ease to operated and clean and has been comfortable.

A month ago my HME Provider told me that they no longer carried this so they were substituting a Fisher Paykel 731. This mask fits under my chine and as much as I tried to adjust, last night I had to break out the RESMED.

Anyone out there know a good same same equivalant to the Mirage Quattro?

I'd find another DME also. The Mirage is a very popular mask, and should be very easy to get. I would be very upset if my mask suddenly became unavailable. Sheriff

Another option if you can't find a DME is to PM forum member mcdover who posted recently before it was mistakenly deleted as spam that he had masks for sale. When you PM him, tell him what you are looking for which usually include alot of the Resmed brands.

I have purchased two masks from him for $60, including shipping, and found him very reliable.

I agree....the Quattro is the most popular FF mask sold. Switch to a different DME. They just do not want to give it too you because their profit margin is low when insurance is paying.

You might want to try purchasing from our hosts - who are also a DME.

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... dgear.html

I purchase direct from them, then claim to my insurance myself. Saves me alot of time, hassle, and LIES, like the one you're currently experienceing.

Cheers,
B.

I wish Medicare would reimburse me for purchases from cpap.com
Think of all the money Medicare could save by cutting out the graft.

That is sad about Medicare.

Maybe someone needs to lobby their congressperson? Oh wait, what am I saying...

Our DME tried that and wanted to supply a less expensive mask, so I called Medicare and was told that if my mask(UltraMirageFF at the time) was still available the DME was required to stock it or special order it. The lady offered to call our DME and about 2hrs later they called and said they "found" some on the "top shelf"! They delivered it the same day and we've never had a problem since.
