Sleep Apnea Pills

Post by sleepinow » Fri Oct 04, 2013 3:23 am

Hey everyone, I came across http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Comfort-Sl ... pnea+pills which are Sleep Apnea pills that can treat sleep apnea. Anyone with central apnea can tell if this helps them? The ratings are really good and it seems that there are enough reviews to justify its effectiveness unless all those reviewers are promoting a faulty product. I heard amazon tracks illegitimate reviews so who knows

I'm awake because the dog keeps barking.
He hears somebody's outdoor dog raising a fuss outside.
Our dog would be quiet if only the other dog would STFU.
I have a headache , my neck and shoulders are stiff, and this headache is so bad I could croak!
And you, who also cannot sleep, are searching Amazon for snake oil.
Go ahead and buy it, GD-it! Let us know how--IF it works. We may or may not send flowers.

Looks like it might have some possibilities. However, I would not stop using my machine. 13/27 reviews with 5 stars is only so-so yo me.

I want to see if anyone else has tried these before I throw money on this product. And 13 5 star reviews is pretty good and 7 of them are four stars. And I read one of the one or two star review when the person does not have sleep apnea at all or that it is too expensive. And speaking of dogs, I wish I had one but cannot (My aunt is anti animal which really gets on my nerves because I have always wanted a dog)

FAKE reviews are not uncommon for many Internet products.
Never trust this garbage to even be SAFE unless you can buy it locally!
But never mind me; I'm just a sleep-deprived old bat who wants to shoot the neighbor's dog.

Chunkyfrog,

I have alot of respect for you so it pains me to disagree with this post but I have to do it. The OP expressed curiosity about a product and said nothing about going off of his machine. So I am perplexed that you would equate that to death.

Give this person credit for asking our opinion instead of impulsively buying product that may be a waste of money.

To the OP, I hate to admit it but when I was desperate at my inability to stay asleep on the machine, I looked at this product also even though I knew better in many ways. As a result, I asked someone I knew who was an expert in homeopathy. She felt this product was way too expensive and told me I could buy the ingredients at alot cheaper price. Because it seemed like too much of a pain in the neck and would take me on a path in which I would be practicing dial winging without knowing what I was doing, I decided against buying anything.

I hope things improve for you dog and headache wise.

I googled the ingredients in the stuff and it's like Thyme, Camomile, etc. etc... all nonsense as far as OSA goes.

1) No pill is going to physically make your airway larger so you don't have OBSTRUCTIVE sleep apnea.

2) I'm with you Country Frog. How about we do a home swap and I'll kill your neighbor's dog, and you kill my neighbor's dog then we go home and sleep in peace?

I fully understand the urge to find something other than a cumbersome CPAP machine to help your sleep. All this pill will do, however, is make you sleepy, if that. It won't stop the apneas.

I spent the first 3 years on the machine hoping to find anything OTHER than the machine that would work for me. But after listening to other posters tell me about their expensive surgeries that really didn't help, expensive mouth guards that really didn't help, and then buying my own expensive mouthguard that was completely worthless and too painful to wear, I just gave up and accepted that I'm addicted to the hose.

Good thing you came here and asked. Hope we saved you some money.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

HI Babette,

I mostly agree with your points. However, people considering a dental appliance will find according to this study that depending on your apnea severity, they have a decent success rate in getting the AHI to 5 or below, particularly if you use the TAP appliance instead of a Fixed One. Your chances are mostly greater with a mild to moderate range with a few exceptions.

Anyway, I don't want people who have tried to no avail to use cpap, to think that using a dental appliance is completely hopeless.

I also think the success depends on the skill and attitude of the dentist. Unfortunately, trying to find the right person is a whole other issue. But in my opinion, a superb sleep medicine dentist can greatly increase the odds of someone having a successful experience with oral appliance therapy. Of course, your mileage will vary.

Sorry I came off heavy-handed; I know the OP is being reasonable, but many others look here for information,
and I did not want to leave any doubt as to the uselessness of such an "alternative" remedy.

unless there is a medical trial associated with sleep study tests it is not worth your money.
Lobelia, Meadowsweet, Thyme, Cramp Bark
might help you get sleepy but that is all.
