1) Did you try plugging the power cord, from your wall outlet, directly into the main unit, instead of the connection through the humidifier?

2) Do you have any lights or display on the RemStar? If not, you may be plugged into a 'switched outlet', try it at another location.

1. Yes
2. Tried four different outlets.

It's just a "lemon"...I'm going to send it back and get another or a different brand...

Does the cpap work if you bypass the humidifier?

The machine you have is an excellent machine - would hate to see you get a different brand.

Nope...doesn't work at all..with or without humidifier...no lights, nothing...have read instructions several times and tried everything they said several times...had another person read and re-read instructions and try to get it to work...nothing!...I have a Fisher & Paykel that I've used for a few years...will probably send the REMstar back, get my money refunded and continue to use the F & P...I just thought the APAP might work better for me...

I think you problem is the DME you got it from, how do they set one that won't run? All I can say is, "You've had the best, now you can try the rest".

For my money I'd stick with the one you have but I would get one from a real DME. Where did you get it, so I won't go there? Jim

We have some strong proponents for Respironics here don't we? As you know I went from a Remstar Plus M Series to the S8 Autoset Vantage, and I really like it, but someday I might get a back-up. I was thinking a Remstar Auto M Series W/C-Flex. Whenever that comes out eventually. I'll probably wait awhile at that so I can pick one up cheaply. Or I'll get the regular Auto (non-M series) for a lesser price. The old style seems to work just as good as the new and is only slightly bigger.

Any thoughts? Or should I get a F&P Goodknight instead? Input?

If it was me I will go to the F&P Goodknight because I get good therapy with the old S7 Spirit and the 420E has a few more settings that I can adjust that Respironics and ResMed does not have. Since 98% of my sleep issues are flow limitations I feel that ResMed and Goodnight are good choices for my needs. The one downside is possibility is how good is the reliability for Goodnight agaist breakdowns?[/url]
