Furlough in United States

Post by Ciarasmom » Tue Oct 01, 2013 11:02 am

Hello all

Wondering since FDA is closed today if we can order infant cpap masks online for delivery to United States? My daughters sleep team has suggested we use nasal cannula 02 @ 2lpm since there is no FDA approved mask.... So i was thinking since fda offices automatedessage says they are closed today due to furlough we can get a pass??????? Thoughts?? Perhaps I'm crazy thinking this.

You will need a prescription for a mask; FDA offices are closed every weekend and holidays, but the law is still enforced.
Did you find a mask to fit her?

I'd have to agree with CF... just cuz the offices are closed doesn't mean the law is suspended. The CPAP outlets and medical discounters on the internet will no doubt still ask for prescriptions. However, there are mask kits and some limited equipment available on Ebay (not to mention Craigslist) without a prescription and the prices are generally very competitive. A cannula might be hard to find tho.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
