Apria Healthcare - El Segundo, CA DME question

Post by Richg44006 » Fri Sep 27, 2013 11:55 pm

Has anyone used APRIA Healthcare in general?

Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with APRIA Healthcare facility in El Segundo, CA?

Any responses would be appreciated!

I've heard a lot of horror stories about Apria here, but when I got on board with them a few weeks ago, Apria bent over backwards to get me some special order stuff. They also contacted my sleep doc and clarified some issues with my Rx. Apria also returns my phone messages on time and have consistent overnight delivery. I've read that they are trying to improve their services.... still, for me it's early days... time will tell.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I been using Apria for about 3 years. I have found that if I tell them what I want, they will send it to be. I don't don't wait to be "served" by them. I am pro active and my stance has done ok with me. Call the 800 number. All your supplies will come from them anyway. By pass your local Apria store. Their number is: 1-800-248-8039.

Per Sheriff's suggestion, I used the 800 number a few years ago since they were answered the phone and swiftly took the order correctly. But then, living in Northern CA, I was told that I had to call the local Apria office. Over the past two years, the local office has improved, or perhaps, I've kept with the same order products and now can get a three-month order with one phone call.

When I used the 800 number they would take the order and were very help full. But they send the order to the local branch office. I found out that I have to call after a week to see that they got the paper work from the Doctor to my insurance. Many times they haven't.
When the system works and I order an item prior to hursday. I will have it on Monday.
I had to switch to a new primary care Doctor and I have been having a wait to get a new mask.
It's time to call them again and read them their rights. Now if I can get the Sheriff to loan me his miranda card that might help.

I've always gotten my order by ups. Call and ask them to mail it to you. If I have to, I'll go and slap them around a bit... er... help them up after fallin'....

I use the Apria office in San Luis Obispo. Not impressed at first. They gave me a machine with 1500 hours on it, software version 905 and didn't have a mask in stock for me to try. Of course I didn't notice this until I got the machine home and started reading this board. And of course you have to sign before you take it out of the office. The machine had the "s9 whistle" on exhale. I started calling the very next Monday and left 4 daily messages with their operator. In my last message I told them I was driving up (a 1.5 hour drive) to get a replacement and I didn't appreciate getting someone elses problem child pawned off on me. They called back the next day and told me that they come down to Lompoc monthly and to meet them at the senior center here. I was really surprised, they gave me a machine with 100 hours on it, software 907. She noticed my old beat up Breeze headset I brought in to test the new machine for the whistle and said I'd get a new one next week....im not holding my breath...but I might just get it!

BTW, the new machine with 907 still has a mild whistle, but at least it doesn't sound like a freight train coming down the track.

I guess I was lucky. I got the SLO office of Lincare. They've been good, even when I didn't know anything. Set me up on a new Autoset 9 machine, have let me go through five masks so far with no pushback, and they return my phone calls.

I know Lincare has a bad rep too, but in SLO they've been really good.
