AHI & CA.

Post by DJL » Mon Sep 23, 2013 4:23 pm

In the 3 months that I have been using APAP my AHIs are average 1.3. But about 70% of them are CAs and some nights all of them are CAs, usually the CAs are in the last 2 hours or so of the night/morning.
Does this pattern of mainly CAs and them being in the morning indicate anything.
My average pressure is about 7cm and my 95% pressure has been between 9.5cm.
At present I check my data on Sleepyhead just about every day, is there a time when I should not check it so often and maybe do it once or twice a week. What I am asking is there a time when I just accept things as they are and basically just keep an eye on any big changes.

Thanks Dave

With an AHI of 1.3 you could not have more than 10 CAs a night even if ALL your events were CAs. I wouldn't worry unless you have large clumps of CAs during the night and it continued regularly. If that happened your AHI would be HIGH.

Personally, I just look at the night's data on the machine LED in the morning, and download and look at my data about once a week. Looking at the data on the machine in the morning gives me a quick bird's eye view of what's going on, and I find it interesting. If I see something exceptional, I can download the data that day to look. That's happened only a couple of times.

As far as centrals goes at an AHI of 1.3, I wouldn't be concerned unless they're affecting your sleep...they can come from something as simple as holding your breath when you roll over. My sleep doctor also mentioned that they sometimes just stop.

Anyways, sounds like you're doing well, keep it up!
